Yes, it’s a popular destination for those visiting Cave Creek. As a local, all I care about is good food, service and atmosphere. This checked all the boxes for us. It’s the peak of summer in the middle of the week so it was quite...slow. It’ll be interesting to see what it’s like during peak tourist season.More
We stopped in here first because the variety on the menu and came back a second time to make sure to save room for the strawberry shortcake. All did not disappoint. They are known for the fried chicken which is a must try. Street tacos...were great as well. Outside seating is shaded, and the only drawback for that is securing napkins for the occasional gust of wind. All the food was very good and the service was fast and friendly.More
As a lifelong fan of friend chicken, I am very critical of how it is prepared. Horny Toad consistently does it right. My friend and I order the whole chicken. We always have leftovers that we bring home and convert into chicken salad.
Usually the...margaritas are to die for. At our most recent visit, there was a different person behind the bar. She seemed to think that the margarita glass should be filled to the brim. Since she was not overpouring the tequila we got an excess of margarita mix. It was so tart our lips puckered. We asked for a replace with our explanation. She suggested less mix and adding club soda. We told her that the glass did not need to be filled to the top; it was the proportions that mattered. She got it right the next time.More
