We’re visiting from Texas and enjoyed a delicious dinner there last night 4 of us, excellent good ribeye, tempura prawns & scallops & stuffed prawns. Loved the beer selection. Excellent service love the location. Well be sure to visit again before we leave scrumptious food
This place is amazing, when you first walk in to the restaurant your instantly captivated by the true Alaskan experience. The staff is well dressed and groomed and they all smile at you wether you are at their table or not. The food comes out...timely regardless of how busy the restaurant currently is. Presentation is top shelf, with quality ingredients in each dish. I was feeling spicy so I asked the waitress to surprise me. This was a great decision, Chef Nate cooked me a fillet with a special house sauce, mash potatoes and gravy, and perfectly cooked and seasoned asparagus. Over all I found very little negative about my experience, as close to a 10/10 experience as I have ever had. Thank You! Will be back for sure.More
Neighbors are 'regulars' there, going an average of twice a week. I/we go occasionally - it's been three times in the last month.
The place has changed hands and is doing a good job with the menu and food. And the drinks are spot-on also....Shawna, our regular table attendant is tops - no, really, I mean to say TOPS!!!
It's priced about right for what it is - great food and terrific ambience. But my wallet can only handle so much of that.
We'll go back, likely once a month or so, and enjoy the fare.More
I went to Settlers Bay Lodge for Valentines Day's 4 Course menu. Expecting this to be an Amazing experience only to be disappointed. At $65/person, I would have expected more. The appetizers were just okay. We had 2 options, to which we both picked our...own. The Applewood Smoked oysters were tasty, but the prosciutto flat bread was overcooked. Next we were given smoked salmon Caesar salad and Alaska King Crab Bisque. My soup came out cold, and the salad had no flavor except that the smoked salmon appeared to taste more like sardines.
The main course was acceptable. The French Onion Filet Mignon was very good, but the vegetables (roasted carrots and asparagus) were overcooked. The potato Cake was okay, but very bland. The Prime rib was cooked well, but paired with the same not so tasty sides.
The best part of the meal was dessert. Cheesecake was delicious, and the Crepes were okay. Of course the Sparkling wine made everything just a little bit better.
There was a mix up with the serving staff in the beginning which is understandable with how busy they were. Our waitress was the only thing that held everything together. She was very kind and positive. We tried to salvage the night by remaining in positive mood, although I would expect a much higher quality of food at $65 a person.
I will definitely take my money somewhere else for the next special event.More
Great food, good menu, great atmosphere! We went out for an impromptu dinner and couldn’t have been happier! We had escargot, calamari, chicken cordon blue, Cajun Fettuccine, tempera shrimp and scallops. All was amazing!! Definitely recommend dining here!
I went there last night for my birthday, the king crab was knuckles and pieces instead of legs or claws, my filet I ordered medium rare and it was basically just seared on both sides, completely rare, which I didnt mind because thats how I prefer it anyway,but...my gf and I were going to split and she wouldnt eat it rare. The black and blue pasta they should have warned was very spicy because she ordered that and only ate part of it because it was overbearingly spicy, and the "brownie" had the taste of a brownie but consistency of cake. My salad was good and the baked brie was good(bread with it was pretty lackluster) for $125 plus tip I definetly expected more,no comparison to kincaid grill, marx bros or the grape tap or anywhere else I would normally spend that kind of money. Overall I'd say it was mediocre at best,a $50 meal with a much larger price tag.More
