Had a good meal and the prices were reasonable. The staff were pleasant enough and the meal arrived in fairly quick order.

Up in Alaska for a month send just had my third visit for breakfast here. Scrambled eggs with diced ham and coffee was affordable and tasted good. Hash browns are good and service again was top notch. Not sure when I get to come back but always look forward to coming here for breakfast.

As I write this, the Trout Place and Windbreak Cafe is listed as #42 of 95 restaurants in Wasilla. Huh? How is that possible for such an excellent restaurant? This place is always dependable for good food and excellent service. Their breakfasts are especially good (you have to try the Philly Cheesesteak Omelet)! Good food, perfect coffee, excellent service all... More

So I took my husband here for his first trip to Alaska. Its been 10 years since I ate here and holy hell it hit the spot and then some. We stopped by for lunch on a weekday and was promptly served and decided on the halibut and chips with a salad. We were so hungry and the salad was... More

I've been eating at the Windreak (now aka Trout's House or Trouthouse) literally since it opened - around 40 years now. It was good then, it's good now. It's never not been good. The food is mainline America, straight from the classic menu fare. They add a few twists here and there, as most places do, and they have their... More

I really enjoyed the food and loved to go here with friends! The service is great and the food is really good. This is one of my more favorite restaurants in Wasilla.

This place is a staple in the valley. It is what it is All American fare. So it never disappoints. I have been there for breakfast and lunch dozens of times over the years. Sat in the restaurant, sat in the bar(red vinyl boths). I prefer the bar for sure. It is just cozy and feels homey. The food is... More

My husband and I are always on the lookout for restaurants, especially here in the Valley. Being chefs we look for good food, reasonable price, great service, location and cleanliness. Although this place has great location, visibility along the highway, the breakfast fell flat. First of all, they do not allow substitutions at all. Service was ok, nothing to rave... More

We ate a morning breakfast and shared the omelette. Kind of a sit yourself place. Food is good but we could have had grated cheddar cheese rather than slice of Kraft. Still the hash browns are always perfect.

Got breakfast stuff for lunch. Reasonable prices. Fast, friendly, nice roadside dinner atmosphere. If go back if I was ever here again.
