When you are driving to Denali from Anchorage there are not a lot of places to stop for food after you leave Wasilla. We needed a break and were looking for a place to have lunch when we came upon the Trading Post. It's set back off the road behind the gas pumps so you need to watch for it.... More

Had a late dinner at location on Friday. Split the special turkey club. Also ordered cup of chili-- Only one in my group of 4. Later that night started having stomach pain. Woke up next morning Saturday and vomited 2 times. Earlier in the day at least 2 people ordered the same lunch. No other issues with the other 3... More

Neat place to stop in and see what a mercantile used to have. We weren't thrilled about the attitudes of the new owners of the pub part. When asked if people could still sign the walls the response was if you want to go to jail, YES!!! Staff was very unorganized and unprepared in the pub area.

On the drive from Anchorage up to Denali the Trading Post comes at just the right time to take a break. After a couple of hours driving we wanted to stop. We also needed to pick up a couple convenience items. They have an option to order food but we didn't do that. They carry a selection of items to... More

Ice cream bars, sausages, beef jerky, fountain sodas, and other miscellaneous items, including groceries and sundries are available. Attached to the small store is a small restaurant. Locals like to hang out here.

We were looking for ice cream on our way from Talkeetma to Denali and saw their milkshakes sign. Glad we did! I had a blackberry and my husband had chocolate. For an extra charge, we got whipped cream. The shakes are made with hand dipped ice cream...yummy!

While traveling from fairbanks to anchorage we stopped for a bite here. My husband had a great breakfast burrito and I had some of the best beef stew I've had out of home. Thanks! Sweet gentle dog hangs around if you're lucky you'll get a soft lean or some love from him.

Great little restaurant in Trapper Creek. Saturday night is jam night and locals get together to sing and play. Amazing how talented some of our folks are. The food is hot and delicous. The wait staff make you feel like your long lost friends. Everyone is welcome. During winter months it's great cuddling up to the wood stove to dry... More

Friendly young man in the store part of the Trading Post, showed us to a table in this VERY local eating spot along the highway to Denali. We were out driving around and didn't want to have to wait longer to go back in to Talkeetna for lunch. Selection is American Fare, and we got burgers, one with fries and... More

We stopped twice at this friendly, rustic joint. First, on our way to Denali from Anchorage and second, on our way back from Denali to Kenai Peninsula. And we enjoyed this place both times! Folks are friendly and warm. We enjoyed watching the cook make our food from their kitchen which open from the dining area. Food is good. Burgers... More
