Just ate breakfast the other day and it was outstanding. Reindeer sausage gravy was very good. Price was what you'd expect for being away from civilization. This is a hotel, restaurant, bakery, reading room and a place to freshen up (they offer showers for hikers and campers alike).

Luckily, we saw a couple eating some huge cinnamon rolls who were walking down the street. They directed us to The Roadhouse. We enjoyed the amazing cinnamon rolls, and some in our group had the giant pancakes. The cinnamon rolls were the best I've ever had anywhere! Great atmosphere!

If it is possible to fall in love with a place - I fell in love that morning in Talkeetna where I had breakfast at the Rodehouse. The family style is charming at the eatery, the food is good and the place is filled with adventure and history. I will simply have to come back!

Great food, even better atmosphere. Enjoyed watching mountain climbers preparing for their climb. The entire town of Talkeetna was a great Alaska day trip.

Food was good, love the open seating. A lovely family joined us who lived where we were heading and gave us some great tips.

We stopped in the Roadhouse while visiting Talkeetna mostly to check out the atmosphere (we'd already had lunch). It was quite crowded, with every table pretty much full. But we saw the cinnamon rolls for sale, which looked delicious, and decided we needed some dessert so bought one. We had to eat it standing at a counter but the taste... More

Called in for a bit of lunch on a very busy day. Bought a meat pie which was quite filling and delicious. Short visit to Talkeetna and a pity I couldn't have stayed longer since there was such a wide range of food from the bakery I'd have loved to sample

Yummy pastries and coffee for a quick breakfast. Lunch too was great - had local soup of the day. Bread was average. kids had lasagne which they enjoyed. Beer was good. Loud, bustling busy place with a local feel although it was filled with tourists

Nice place to have breakfast, with very good pies and many other alternatives, and a pleasant atmosphere, if a little too crowded.
