The restaurant was nice and relaxed for a pub style restaurant. The staff were very good at making sure I was treated well and we're helpful in choosing a nice beer with my meal . The food was hood old fashioned food and very tasty . Well done to the staff and the chef

A family group of grandparents, parents and teenagers experienced a menu which catered to all tastes, fair prices, and a cosy, warm atmosphere. Staff were outstanding.

One of my favorite restaurants. A quiet dinner for two on a cool Saturday night. Warm and cozy with excellent staff to look after the patrons. We both had one of the daily specials of lamb chops, potatoes, fresh beans & roars vegetables with a juc drizzled over the chops. Absolutely delicious. Awesome chocolate desert and fantastic coffee afterwards.

This was a fantastic experience which encompassed great food, local history and friendly staff. We had a combination of starters to share accompanied by a few pints of the best ales. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We were visiting Timaru for a family wedding and had dinner with friends at The Ale House, had never been before. Staff were welcoming and friendly, food selection was great, wait service was excellent. My husband and a friend had the Seafood Chowder which was absolutely lovely, I had a Gumbo which I really enjoyed, these were entree/starter size dishes... More
