We visited on a Friday night and it was busy and noisy. Good service and reasonable menu but food was pretty plain for the high prices.

The menu here is varied, good portions and well priced. Fast service. The atmosphere is busy and warm, could see it getting rowdy at times. Cooked breakfast was well done, perfectly poached eggs, crispy free range bacon, butter with the toast - just lacked a relish or something to break the eggs dish. Our spicy chicken pizza and nachos were... More

Went there last night, the girl from the front desk seems to be reluctant to greet or serve customers, too busy playing the computer/booking system, then finally I've been shown to a table, with menu dropped on the table, then that's it. Menu is boring, nothing appealling, but I decided just ot order something since I was hungary. Then waited,... More

We went here for my birthday dinner. Had lovely friendly service from the staff. We were here at 5.30pm so there was quite a few families but we had a nice spot away from most of the noise. The fire was roaring, the food was great. There are plenty of beer and wine options on the menu. Ordered the ribs... More

We were so looking forward to returning to the Powderkeg for breakfast whilst travelling up North. It is the best, beautiful place, service and spot on food. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our different breakfasts and perfect coffee, thank you!

We chose to go here sans kids, and we did not regret! Awesome food, loved the open fire and the staff were attentive and enthusiastic. Only downside is that the table are crammed together and makes getting up and down from you seat rather difficult.

I can't describe how amazing these meals are. We had breakfasts (three) and dinners (two) at the Powderkeg Restaurant. Highly recommend the ribs ... meat just falls of the bone (which is evident by the nakedness of the bones when finished!!). Breakfast - SUPERB. We have never had anything so devine ... the amazing food and wine and was literally... More

Left waiting for a long time and the food was very substandard. Have eaten before a year ago and also waited for ages... but it was heaving then. Now, no snow, so no excuses - except they did say they had two new, start-of-season chefs who were taking a while to get to grips. Took drinks off bill, to their... More

The ambience of this place with the wooden decor and crackling fire is excellent. The food is average.

I couldn't handle another night of fish n chips, and it's one of the kids ninth birthday so we wandered in for dinner. Service was good and we didn't wait a long time to order - or to receive our meals. The food was good and I thought reasonably priced. Would go here again.
