The place is good for people who love to shop for interesting merchandise. There are a wide selections of glossy dried fishes and some dry goods. The smell around is indeed fishy but is just right to capture local Chau Doc living. Such a buzzy sight! However, there were some male vendors who catcall somehow you wouldn't feel comfortable. Shrug... More

An amazing market that offers fish (dried or not), shells, vegetable, crabs, prawns, etc. Very colourful and so typically Vietnamese. A good experience to have in Mekong region - probably the most interesting think to do in Chau Doc (with the Cham village and floatting village).

When you have seen many markets you should not miss this one. A concert of chaos, animals, fish and vegetables all oiffered by elegant, old, young vendors and all very nice people.

This is a very basic, somewhat dingy market - with the typical fruit, fish, meat, clothing, fabrics etc. worth a browse through as there is always something to see - and there isn't much else in town!

We loved this market for the variety and smells and the friendliness of the people. It is a photographers delight, to meander the stalls, checking the enormous variety of herbs, fruits and fresh fish. There are frogs, different meats, fish pastes and live ducks. It is the place where all the locals do their shopping , not a tourist market.... More

Standard market. Interesting for those who have not seen or are in need of purchasing items. Consider visiting floating markets on the river.

I would always come here when I visit. My aunts like to take me here because it has many of the things we need in one convenient location in a pretty compact area. My favorite place to eat in this market is the "banh canh" and my favorite food here is "banh canh ngot" (sorry about any incorrect spellings -... More
