Sa’mesa has been my most fun dinning experience in Bali. The food was absolutely amazing, fresh and highest quality, at the same time it felt “homie”. The staff had a great energy and they would bring food very timely; the set up is one large table where you sit with some other people you don’t know, but end up meeting throughout dinner, we ended up dancing our fave music, everything was in point. Highly recommended

What a magic experience! One sitting at 7.30, everyone waits outside for the food to be placed, then one communal table.
Paco is an absolute classic, and within minutes the music is on, food and drinks flowing and the whole table becomes one and new friends are made.
Fantastic energy in the room, lots of dancing between drinks and food…. Just an awesome and unique night out.
Book a table well ahead. In fact book a table before you book a flight to Bali so you don’t miss out !!

I’ve lived in Bali for 4 yrs and I eat out a lot, this place is hands down the BEST Italian food in town, gifted chef, impeccable service, the host Paco can make any guest feel at home with his warmth and welcoming vibe . The price is amazing for the quality of food you get.
Ah ! And the “Sa Mesa Experience “ is a true must ! Pace yr fork as 21 dishes will flow through a long beautiful dinner showered by limoncello and great wine .
Their slogan says “ Come as strangers leave as friends “ I’d say if felt more like ... “Come as strangers leave as family “ ciao a presto !

Interesting dinner experience to meet new friends at a dinner party setting — the main differentiating feature of this restaurant.
quality of the food can be improved. At this price point there are much better Italian restaurants in Bali. The appetisers appear to have been made far in advance, artichoke gratin came cold and dry, burrata was solidified, there was a deep fried something that was very tough and cold. Strangely they make it a point not to tell you what is being served and leave it up to you to discuss with your dinner companions and ask if you want an authoritative answer. The hot food was better. The main entree - a grilled fish was bland.
They only start the dinner when everyone has arrived. In the seminyak location it meant we had to wait outside the restaurant by a busy road despite being told to arrive “sharp” at a certain time while the food was languishing on the table inside the restaurant. The seating took place 15 mins past the time dinner was supposed to start. I felt sorry for the guests who arrived earlier for aperitifs. Letting people wait inside the restaurant (along with the service staff) might be more comfortable.
When asked for an opinion about what bottle of wine would go with the menu that we didn’t know anything about the host said it depended on what price we wanted to pay, which is a refreshing way to think about these things I suppose.

We just had our soft opening on the 2nd of December, which was less than two weeks ago, and we are trying to be up to standard as soon as possible. Was surprised at the communal dining concept where 2 long tables seat about 15-17 diners per table, but the surprise was a peasant one. Courses of the chef’s choices made from fresh ingredients, were served at a good pace. People can mingle and the best part was the different genre of music played to suit people of all age groups…. There was ample drinks, food and when the mood presents itself… everyone is dancing! A must-go-to restaurant !

SaMesa’ is a different but amazing dining experience in Canggu!
It’s like a big Italian family dinner, seated on one big table with people from all around the world.
For a set price you receive many delicious courses of Italian food and the highlight was the unlimited limoncello. By the end of the night you are dancing on tables 😄 The best fun we’ve had in Bali and the handsome and hospitable host, Luca will certainly tend to your needs and make sure you are having the best time.
This place is a must while you’re in Bali.

I heard a lot about Sa'Mesa so i decide to go try personally with my family and friends. To be honest, i tough was just a good Restaurant, my expectations were way lower...now i know why people always want go there. Super fun experience,food best i try in my life ,customer service umbeliveable good , music super fun , i m a rapper and when i ask Paco the owner to let me play some of my songs he sayed yes and i was the happiest person in the world, never before any Restaurant let me do that. Thank you Sa'Mesa team , that night will be forever in my heart !!

I have been visiting Sa’Mesa several times with two circumstances, a stranger and a friend.
My first visit was in September 2021 with a friend and the rest on the communal table were people I barely know at all. At first, I was only focusing on smashing all the good food that were served from antipasti, primi, secondi, and dolci. Eventually I managed to get to know the other visitors as we were talking while munching the food.
I really satisfied with the quality to the taste of all the dishes. The prawn risotto is still something I would say the best. Not to mention the burrata, lasagna, vongole, pasta, polpettes/beef meatballs, The OG grilled red snapper, and cannoli. The free flow limoncello, selected cocktails and wines are also the good companion. Foodgasm at its best.
The rest of my visits were with a group of friends, which we always had a massive blast from dinner to “the after dinner”. Hats off to the hosts, Paco and Ale, for putting a sharp music playlist and creating the delightful vibes. I also salute The ALL FEMALE kitchen staff and the other staffs who were always rocking the soirée with their friendly attitude. Oh, although we were coming in group, we always ended up having new friends.
With the current circumstances where tourists/new comers are coming to visit the Island of Gods: if you’re looking for one of the best dinner experiences, do come to Sa’Mesa. Some people might feel odd with the thought of “having dinner with strangers”. But here, you might change your mind into “that was one epic dinner and night I’ve had.”

Best family style restaurant in Bali. All the dishes were excellent taste and quality. All the dishes arrive in the middle of a long table and you pick and choose. They were all amazing. These guys care about their restaurant and it shows. Great meal. Really great.

Me and my Girlfriend came here on for a Friday night date. We were a bit apprehensive of sharing a table but that evaporated as soon as our friendly authentic Italian host Paco introduced himself and gave information about the experience. This was one of the best meals I've ever had in Bali. The quality of the food and the traditional family recipes were delicious and vast. They catered to my gluten and dairy free diet fantastically to the point I didn't feel left out or jealous of my partners food, which can often happen.
I will definitely be back, 5 star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was an amazing experience I haven’t ever experienced before. Everyone sat on the same table communicating and socialising with new people. The food was amazing and I loved how it wasn’t one meal it was 20 different dishes you could chose from on the table. If you want a party style dining experience this is definitely the one - shots after shots all included within the price! Dancing on the chairs & tables - it’s safe to say it was definitely my vibe!

Cool concept with shared tables and a good atmosphere. Perfect for solo travellers as it's easy to socialise and meet new people! We were served a great variety of food which was nicely presented. However, the taste was disappointing, especially the main dishes and dessert. After having read the amazing reviews we were definitely expecting better food... Canggu has hundreds of fabulous restaurants at affordable prices so I wouldn't recommend it for the food.

Since you step in, you feel a warm welcome from everyone in Sa’Mesa, it is a very clever concept where you get to have a proper sharing experience, without talking about the food which was the best I tried in Bali so far, everything is super fresh and cook at perfection. You can come alone or with friends but you’ll definitely leave with amazing memories and ready to book again. 5* and if there were more, I would have left more ❤️

Had “mini sa’mesa” with our big friend group yesterday, and it was a great experience!
Paco is an excellent and very vibrant host who gives you that “traditional Italian family” experience.
I’ve been in Bali for over a year, and am confident to say the chicken was the best I had here!
The chef and staff makes an extra effort in presentation of the 12 courses we had, and not a single item was out of place - both in looks and taste.
Great wines as well.
Definitely recommend this experience!👌
