The picture shows a beach, in fact it's just a scruffy bit of red sand. The waiter was most obliging, again beer served in coffee mugs and the bottle wrapped in paper!!! Kovalem is definitely not the place to enjoy a drink!!

Lovely location (at the waters edge)!! Very nice staff, best Samoans I have ever tasted! Ice cold beer makes this a perfect early evening stop.

Lovely setting on the sea wall and not surrounded by the detritus further down the beach by the other beach restaurents. Staff friendly but not pushy and king prawn malabar very good . Good value and ice cold beer with excellent banana fritters and honey to finish!!

At a table on the sea wall, had just finished an acceptable meal, paid and we're just finishing our drinks, when the waiter put 3 chairs next to us and ushered people to sit down next to us so that when we had finished our drinks they could slide in. Ruined te whole experience, will not be returning.

Very nice location, friendly service, clean food but unfortunately not very tasty. We got the feeling that the food was only made for tourist . It was also a bit pricy.

Very recently been to this place. Pretty decent staff. -Food tasted good though on an Indian tourist's perspective, a little pricey. -The room was neat but a little- old fashioned. -Staff attitude was very decent too. But they aren't dressed in any hotel uniform as such. -Wi-Fi was also available in the room on request. -A free breakfast was also... More

I have loved this location for eleven years now and the fact I visit twice a year speaks volumes. This time we were greeted at the airport by my lovely Madhu and taken by taxi to Watersedge, where they had reserved our favourite room. Waiting there to meet us was Mr Money (Sanal, owner) and all the staff. Food is... More

We ate here several times in our stay. A great spot for a sunset drink (literally) on the waters edge. (King) Prawns Bothrm one of our favourite dishes during 3 weeks away. Good amount of space inside when the weather turned wet. Very friendly & helpful staff.

The Waters Edge Restaurant is located between the two accommodation buildings. Unlike many other eating places in the area it is lavishly furnished and as it is on the upper floor of the building with open sides the gentle breeze from the Arabian Sea keeps you cool when dining, although there are also numerous ceiling fans to do this should there be no breeze. During the day enjoy the open, uninterrupted view across the bay and beyond and in the evening relax and watch the lights of the fishing boats out at sea. The menu is varied and caters for all tastes - Indian, Chinese and European dishes are available, and all meals are freshly prepared when ordered. The chef will cook each meal according to your personal taste - let the waiter know when you place your order how strongly spiced you like your meals and our chef will cook the meal to cater for your own preference. Our advice if you are not used to eating spicy food is to allow a few days to let your body get used to Indian cuisine by starting off with mildly spiced dishes and gradually increase the spice content until you find the level of seasoning that you like. Sea food is obviously a speciality here and lobster, mussels, prawns, tiger prawns, calamari, snappers, tuna, butterfish and searfish are often available (depending on the day's catch of course). If you like you can personally select a fish from the fishermen's nets on the beach in the morning which Sanal and his team will be happy to prepare for your lunch or evening meal.
