I had no idea about where to eat when I drove into Palmer as I had not checked Trip Advisor. Fortunately, I found this place by accident as it is next door to the local "Chamber of Commerce" and I needed some tourist information. I enjoyed a grilled portobello sandwich with a cup of soup and both were delicious. The... More

Slow service and high prices. Skip this one unless you are looking for something that is more New Tork style than Alaskan

this was recommended by our B&B host. We ate dinner and stopped for lunch the next day. Food had unique and delicious variations. The macaroons were super yummy.

The food is consistently good and reasonably priced. For a town like Palmer, Alaska, it is a welcome change from burgers and diner style meals. One of the best places in town for lunch or dinner. The food is well prepared, edgy and a bit fusion. The specials are often an American standard (beef stew) with a flair. Soups are... More

Stopped in for a quick lunch with my daughters. The kid options are not on the menu and had to be verbally relayed at the table, which was kinda a pain. A little expensive for lunch but the food was good. Kids portions were on the small size, adult portions were generous. Salad and bread was super fresh. Would be... More

The biscuits and gravy were excellent. All locally-sourced ingredients where possible. The baked goods were also great. I highly recommend the bread pudding.

Turkey Red was recommended to us by some of the staff at the visitors center. The two of us went there for lunch. The sandwiches were very good. The service was very disappointing. After being seated, it seemed like a long wait until the server came to ask about our order. She seemed to be having a bad day. ??... More

Stopped in on TA reviews. It is a nice clean well decorated small locally run establishment. Much of the food has a Mediterranean flavor. It is also a bakery. My husband got the spanakopita and humus plate 2 appetizers. The spanakopita was hot flaky and filled with fresh (at least it tasted fresh) spinach and cheese with aside of Greek... More

If one were to rate this restaurant relative to the others in Palmer, it would probably be a 4+. That is more because the rest is only so-so. Turkey Red serves more creative/unusual combinations starting with good quality ingredients. But like most establishment in Alaska we visited, the food - especially the fish - is over-done and too dry. If... More

I came here on a date on a weeknight. It was busy but we had a reservation and were promptly seated. The atmosphere is warm and slightly upscale without being pretentious. I had read a few reviews claiming the service here was lacking but we found it impeccable. Our sever was quick and helpful without being obtrusive. We started with... More
