We came for the halibut and found some good and some bad. My wife ordered the halibut and chips, and the halibut was hard and dry, and the chips tasted like they were from a freezer bag. I had the halibut udon and the halibut...was tender and moist and the noodles were soft as they should be. After my wife tried her plate, she sent it back and ordered what I had. They were not put off by sending the meal back which says well for them but the two dinners plus app and beer were approximately $112.00. Quite a bit more than it should be for spicy fish and noodles.More

After the reviews, honestly, I expected better. To be fair, it was solid and good but just not special. The chiopino (the special) was with a very light broth and did nothing for the fish and bi-valve offerings. The staff was great and we all...enjoyed ourselves but the quality was less than we expected and less than what we paid for. The Halibut had little appeal and was quite dry, even with the more moist stuffing. Next time, I will try another restaurant for comparison. We had only one night. If we have 2 nights, I will try Fresh Catch again, just to be sure it wasn't "one of those days" in the kitchen. I would do that because of the staff and some previous reviews. CheersMore

No kids menu! Scoffed at us bringing our 4 children in here. They made us pay $12 to split a plate between our 4 year old and 8 year old. $162 later we were unimpressed and I never received 1 drink refill! Do yourself a...favor and go to Captain Patties who cater to families and give you refills on your drinks!More

My husband and stepson had fish and chips, I had the red curry, and we shared some crab bouidan. We all agreed everything was excellent. Big portions and leftovers too! The red curry was delicious and one of my favorite meals of the trip. Two...thumbs up!More

My review is based on both the food (Great) and the people working here (Not so great)... We first went in and saw their mask sign, so we complied. While being seated, we were lectured about wearing masks (WHICH WE WERE!). The food was really...good. The portions were HUGE! My wife and I both ordered the Halibut fish and chips and couldn't finish the plate. Side note, it reheats very well. We liked it enough to come back again. Next trip wasn't as nice... We were greeted at the door with a sign that said, "WE ARE DONE ASKING NICELY - YOU MUST WEAR A MASK (second half in bold). When we got into the restaurant, we were asked if we had a reservation. I did have reservations, but I went in anyway... We did not, so the lady looked at their one occupied table and said they could fit us in. Then she proceeded to ask us our contact information for contact tracing. This was not done on our first visit earlier in the week. She said it was their policy (again, we didn't have to divulge this on our first visit). I made a comment about their rude sign on the door and my wife and I left to go to a friendlier place. Which we found; across the road and down just a bit. If you want to be met with rude at the door for big portions of food, this is the place for you. If you are satisfied with slightly smaller portions, but a crazy friendly staff, go somewhere else. Like across the road and down a little bit.More

This was our first Evening Dinner out on The Spit . After a short 30 min wait we were seated and had a lovely dinner . King Crab and drinks for starters... wonderful seafood ! Waiter was very friendly. Little did we know that there...would be a Tsunami warning 10 minutes after leaving ! Glad we were able to finish this awesome dinner first ! And no actual Tsunami hit the Spit ! A dinner evening to remember for sure !More

date if visit 06/20/2020 waiting for the door to open at 5 P.M. We bought halibut we caught with us. the chef did a great job of cooking it two different was, the fried was good and crunchy. Our server was very good, friendly and...knowledgeable. NOW the Hostess was outright rude and other choice words not allowed, she was young, thin, good looking but a "B" word.we asked to be seated in the main dining area (with the view over the bay) but she made us and the two other sets of diners to sit it the second class section. there were no people sitting in the first class section when we arrived and departed. What kind of impression do you think it made on the foreign visitors?More

I was traveling on the Kenai for work and was able to have a couple meals in Homer. Fresh Catch had already been scoped out for me by one of my coworkers. The restaurant has two rooms, one with booths and a bar and the...other with tables. The room with the tables has a beautiful view. I had the fried haddock with a salad as my side. The serving size was very plentiful - I took half of the fish back to work and ate it at room temperature the next day and it was still good. The service was friendly and I would recommend a visit!More
