Good fish, average chicken strips, regular fries. Everything is piping hot, made while you wait and it pretty good. You just have to remember that it is deep fried - but delicious. :-)

$15 gets you fish and chips. Halibut, Salmon, Rockfish or a combination. Some scottish folks we shared a rafting trip with joined us as well and for all 6 of us we enjoyed the meal. We took it around the corner to the public pavilion to eat and watch the harbor and the eagles. A slice of heaven...with chips!

Fresh halibut and good breading. Wine store across the street. Didn't have the salmon. Shrimp and coleslaw were delicious

On our walk back from the Eagle Rehabilitation Center we spotted the truck with picnic tables next to it. One person ordered the fried salmon sandwich and I had the fried halibut sandwich (both served with french fries). Cold soda/water for $1. The young girl is saving money for college. Good food, a little bit of a wait since she... More

We asked the some of the local shop keepers where they recommended we have lunch. They all said Big Al's. When we got there, there was aline of locals waiting to order. Thats a good sign. The food was so good we went back 2 more times. The menu is limited but what we had was all very good. Its... More

1 block from the cruise terminal, or across from Post office. Small food trailer with a small menu and 2 picnic tables. Sandwiches or chips and fish meals. 6 minutes was all it took for our meals. I had Halibut, and my husband had the salmon. We both will be back tomorrow for lunch again. Tasted so fresh and meal... More

Delicious food and a fun atmosphere. A lot of the locals were having their lunch at Big Al's when we were there. Always a good sign! Thanks for the excellent service!

As year round residents of Haines Alaska, we can't wait for summer and Big Al's to open. Locally caught fish and shrimp cooked to perfection. And by far the best food prices in town.

So a coworker of mine recommended Al's for a good fried chicken substitute due to their chicken strips. It's a stationed food coach with two benched tables adjacent. I tried it out one day and actually ordered one of all they had to offer (combos) except for the shrimp and corn dog. There was just a young lady working and... More
