I had a wonderful experience at La Esquina de Buenos Aires. They made room for me as a solo traveler where I sat at the bar. Francisco, the bartender was a fabulous host. He recommended an excellent choice of meat for me (one must get...me at an Argentine steakhouse). Also recommend an excellent wine pairing and a few after dinner drinks. A must visit restaurant- make sure to make a reservation on your next visit! You will not be disappointed.More

This place is always my choice for my birthdays and our anniverssaries, and welcome any other celebration with friends and family, too! The ambient transports me travelling to Argentina, the decoration, the music, the kind and cool personal service. And the food!... Made to perfection...every time, never failed in the 18 years I´ve known them. Delicious, exquisite, great portions, and don´t get me started on the Sangria... This is my feel at home restaurant.More

Last night my wife and I had dinner here. I had made reservations earlier in the day. When we were seated and had reviewed the extensive menu of wines we each asked for a glass of wine. The waiter abruptly told us there is no...alcoholic beverages. During this period of Covid 19 controls I can understand that but why was the restaurant not transparent when I made the reservation. I asked the Manager on staff and he indicated it wasn’t he who was responsible. It is certainly unfortunate that whoever is responsible couldn’t be more open with their visitors. To bad. The salad and the steaks we had were good but not excellent considering the top end price you pay at this establishment. I would not recommend La Esquina de Buenos Aires.More

This steakhouse has great top of the line meats, great vegetable dishes to accompany your order, salads, spaghetti and some of the freshest drinks and house sangria in San Jose!

went to this restaurant based on the rave reviews. Unsure what all the fuss is about. The service was extremely poor and slow--lots of "managers" walking around doing absolutely nothing: I asked one of them for a refill on my wine glass, only to have...our waiter come back 5 minutes later asking if i wanted the same wine The meat was bland, tasteless and almost cold (had a Churrasco steak). Save your money and try something else.More

We were returning to San Jose for the night prior to flight home but could not book a table due to predicted arrival time. As soon as we arrived at the hotel and checked in we made a dash into town to La Esquina de...Buenos Aires on a recommendation of a couple we met the week before. With no reservation we were offered seats at the bar where we could eat which was ok and as we were about to order the Maitre d’ found us a table which was perfect, I mentioned in passing it was my wife’s birthday and he had made our day. The waiter, originally from Colombia although I forget his name, was very friendly and took time to chat as he was taking our order and pouring the wine. The choice of wine is, as you’d expect, extensive and we picked a middle of the range Malbec, perfect. We had a simple starter of spinach croquet to share followed by tenderloin steaks, I had Malbec sauce with dauphinois potatoes and my wife porcine mushroom sauce with potatoes. Both meals came with a pair of beautifully cooked tender steaks which were melt in the mouth and packed with flavour. After the main courses were cleared the waiter returned with another waitress and a slice of coconut cake complete with candle and they sang happy birthday to my wife, made her day! The whole experience was perfect from start to finish and I would recommend anyone to visit this restaurant if they are in town.More

I was in this restaurant with my daughter and son. All of us like very much meat, especially from Argentina. This time we were completely satisfied for the delicious mixed grill, unique course for 3 people, for the well cooked and very good quality of...it. The owner was very kind. The flowers in every table completed the elegance and in the meantime friendly dinner. Probably the table are too much in the restaurant, but this fact contribute to do to the restaurant a warm atmosphere.More

Absolutely fabulous sangria, well stocked bar and free after dinner limoncello shot. Melt in your mouth steaks, my new favorite Costarican restaurant that will transport you Argentina!

I suggest writing the restaurant directly with your question. You'll find their email address under the 'Cotacto' tab on their website.
