This is one of the best dining experiences in San Jose. The dinner menus is awesome with many great choices. This not your usual menus. Gourmet food at its best. The service staff is very good. It is old school service. Very attentive to your needs. The dining room is table clothes, fine plateware and utinsels. The table setting is... More

Such a lovely place to eat. Chock full of charm and feels like being in Casablanca with Bogart. The food is as good as we've had in Costa Rica. Tasty and inventive. The wine list is good and the wait staff attentive. Had both lunch and dinner there. Strangely the lunch staff overdid the attention and fell all over themselves... More

We stayed at the nearby Park Inn and the restaurant is but a block away. We ate on 2 occasions and the food is excellent and deservedly of a high standard. We had pork and rabbit first time. beef the second of which the chateaubriand with 3 sauces was exceptional. Not cheap but this is fine dining of the highest... More

Although we live in San José much of the year, this was my first visit to Grano de Oro. I can only say I have been missing out. What an outstanding restaurant! Everything was first class. The ambience of this converted and expanded house was a delight to see. The woodwork and layout with the central patio is classic old... More

WARNING: Fine dining with excellent service. Your palate will thank you for it. Most notable dishes: Scallop with foe gras, sea bas encrusted with macadamia nuts, the lamb is to die for and the Canadian duck. If you get the chance, try their papaya smoothie. There is complimentary hotel parking.

This restaurant and hotel is classic and beautiful. After eating here over 4+ times the food has never failed myself or my husband. We have tasted many items on their menu and have never been disappointed. My favorite was the ravioli filled with butternut squash, with cheese, and the desserts are decatant.

Where to start? First the location. On the edge of downtown San Jose the Hotel Grano de Oreo speaks softly to you upon entering that yes you belong here. You choose to be seated between the courtyard and shaded tables or in the surround under ceiling fans moving quickly enough to stir the air but not disturb you. The tablesetting... More

The food was excellent and the dining area was stunning. It was amazing to us that this diamond of a restaurant is nestled amidst such a rubble of a surrounding area.

This is a absolutely gorgeous hotel with restaurant. The decor was simply very classic. The food was outstanding as were the desserts. We had seafood, pork, pasta by the different folks at the table, and everyone of them were delicious. The dessert was crime brûlée, and it was absolutely tasty.
