About
Cafe Rojo offers a lunch special and a vegan/vegetarian option every day. We use seasonal produce from the local farmer's markets in our world-cuisine inspired dishes. Simple food made with care and imagination. Located in a typical old Barrio Amon house, which we share with bookshop Duluoz, Cafe Rojo is a good place to spend the afternoon and escape the bustle of downtown San Jose. Our coffee is from Santa Maria de Dota, Tarrazu, and produced by a carbon neutral cooperative. We also offer smoothies and fresh fruit drinks, sandwiches and artisan bakery.

The food was soooo good. And moderately priced. Ask for recommendations. You’ll like it, I promise. It’s a fun ambiance also (but a very small restaurant)

Found the place really easily. The giant cactus is a good giveaway. Staff very friend. The meal was big, tasted excellent and very very inexpensive. Would definitely go back.

We had the best meal here in a long time. Noodle salad with homemade sauces to choose from after your own strength and tastebuds. Also off the busy street which was nice. There’s a bookshop next door. Lovely atmosphere. Very cute and friends staff too...More

Excellent quaint and cozy cafe! It was worth the walk we made to try and find this place! Vietnamese/costa Rican fusion! We had the smoked trout noodle bowl which was absolutely delicious. Worth trying this place for the food, coffee and desserts!

Cafe Rojo is wonderful! The noodle bowl is delicious, and very reasonably priced. Good fruit juices and coffee, and the music is very good. The staff are great, and very friendly. Highly recommended for lunch.
