This restaurant is family owned with a great view. It is worth the ride up the hill from San Jose. They have a good selection meat, fish and chicken dishes. They also have a Thursday night Typical night with a show, the $50 price is a bit high, but worth seeing one time. You can also order off the menu... More

I have been here a few times over the years so if you're tourist arrange transportation as it can complicated. The steak and vegetables were good. The staff was very helpful. Great view to take pictures.

The service was great. We had coffee and amazing dessert. We had flan de coco, and chocolate and flan together. It was sooo good. My son had a really cute dessert with ice cream and crushed Oreos that looked like a potted plant. He said that the hot chocolate was the best. The best part is the view of San... More

My wife and I have been to this restaurant twice. We have had the typical food buffet and enjoyed the folkloric dance show which is only presented on Wednesday and Thursday of every week. At the end they invite you to the outside where they do a little firework show and a parade of mascarades. We advise tourists to visit... More

If you want to treat yourself to a special evening, Ram Luna will deliver. There is a buffet of food and drinks. There is entertainment and the one of the best views of the Central Valley. I bring my students here because if it is your first time, you are going to be impressed.

Poor quality food, but great night view of the valley, however taking in consideration that there are many other nice places around I wont go here ever again.

The bartenders Javier and Alonso made my experience at el Restaurante Ram Luna much more lively than I was expecting. Conversing with Javier helped me understand the lifestyle of the Costa Rican people; and because of this, I felt much more connected with the Costa Rican experience I sought from going to the restaurant. El es Tuanis! Pura Vida!

The only good thing about this place is the view of the city, other than that it was terrible: bad food both not tasty and not fresh, horrible tiny bathrooms, (so if you get food poisoning and need to take crap you are screwed and on top of that when you sit on a toilet your entire head is visible... We have been visiting Ram Luna since the last ten years. The last two times in 2015... Ram Luna is now a very unique restaurant because of the fantastic views, a nice ambience, the touristic show is so-so... ...but the food was not any more as before. Filet mignon inside cold (fridge temp), Martini cocktail warm with Brandy... Food: 2/10

Description
Mountain restaurant and lookout point with an excellent view of the capital city of San José, the city of Heredia, Tres Ríos, Aserrí and the Irazú Volcano. Located at 5870 feet above sea level, with 2 fireplaces and decorated like home it has a cozy and warm ambiance. An outside patio with an open firepit and park benches around, attracts those who likes to take pictures of the scenery. With 49 years in business, now we have a menu that combines the best of Costa Rica and international cuisine and a selected list of wines. The Ram Luna was initiated by the family Ramírez Aguilar, Gilber and Moraima, who still live in the property and keep running the restaurant.
