Barely a bakery, more like a shelf with some mediocre bread. Apparently the first owner, who was a great baker, sold the place and left. There's not much there to recommend it now. Don't be fooled by the appetizing pictures on the web page.
The first time we tried to go here we ended up walking away. It looked like it was open but had no one around to help with service. The next day we went back and asked someone from El Gran Escape (same building) and it...turned out that they run the bakery and prepare the food for you there. The bagel we had was good but swimming in butter and the coffee was good too. I'm glad we went back and asked about it. We didn't have anything complicated but the rest of their food looked like it was also worth trying.More
Good place to take a break while exploring the town of Quepos. We began at the outdoor market and explored the shops and walkways. Ready to take a break, we unexpectedly came upon a “taste of home”. Great desserts.
Me and my husband went for breakfast on a Monday morning. There was one other couple seated sipping coffee and waiting for there food. We ordered a latte and a beer while looking at menu. My husband ordered a ham and cheese omelet and I...ordered tico breakfast. Several minutes passed and we noticed the other couple still did not have food. The wait staff , bartender and cooks were eating red velvet cake, scooping frosting with their fingers and licking them!!! 30 or so minutes went by, no waitress to see, if, we wanted another coffee or beer. Our food finally came out, my husband had a ham sandwich ( not what he ordered). My breakfast was fine, my husband sent his back. I ate my breakfast, it was good. To bad this place has poor work ethic and professionalism. We will never return to this place and we live here.More
We got the red velvet. It was stale and the frosting was hard. We refused to pay for it. 3 people came around. They blamed the cake being stale on being contaminated by the other old cakes. They said they would take the red velvet...out. That did not make sense since according to them, the cake was contaminated by the others. Weird excuse!More
