Lapa Rios has a great menu, friendly staff, sustainable practices and amazing view! And there was lots of food!

See my lodging review as I would not consider any other destination in the area. Best food, service, and everything!! They also will modify anything on the menu and have special children, gluten free and vegan menus too!! Always the freshest and local foods!!

This was the best stop on our trip. The hotel staff were friendly and genuine, food was fantastic, rooms where heavenly and walking tours magical. The amount of animal life and nature was breathe taking. Highly recommend this, a must do!

Lapa Rios is an amazing place. Hard to get to (45 minutes by Land Cruiser from Port Jiminez) but well worth it. Ultra friendly staff, lots of wildlife to see (monkeys, toucans, macaws, frogs, interesting flora) and excellent food. Unless you are fit avoid cabins 12-17 as they entail a huge climb to the restaurant

Wonderful restaurant associated with an Exceptional resort. They have an excellent menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. always providing fresh fruit and juices. we had some good meat while we were their, but focused on their fresh fish. As our meals were included with our rooms (fantastic!) I can't speak to value, but the food was excellent and the staff... More

We should have stayed home and made spaghetti. Family of 5. Last night of living in a rented house in the midst of stunning Primary Rainforest Jungle. Thought we would have a celebratory evening. BIG MISTAKE. $57 dollars EACH (including the kids). Staff were NOT welcoming, restaurant was nearly empty, we were made to feel like an imposition. POOR FOOD,... More

We stayed at the resort for 5 nights and enjoyed every meal we had there. There were so many appealing entrees that the first night we were able to plan what we would have the other 4 nights so that we would not miss out on anything. The wait staff was fun yet professional. We even did the kitchen experience... More

I am a plant-based, whole food, no added oil eater and the restaurant chefs took that in stride and served me delicious, healthful meals that were beautifully presented. I stayed at Lapa Rios for 6 days and enjoyed every meal. The portions were generous and special requests were fulfilled when possible. Sometimes the restaurant ran out of an item (while... More

The view is great but the food is regular and pretty expensive. The overall experience was ok but not as great as I would have expected. The best deal would be to go there for a breakfast.

Great cocktails for a really good price (especially for the hard to get to jungle). Go for the day for cocktails and views. Food was good, but nothing to write home about. We did enjoy our meals, more so because this is the ONLY establishment in the area.
