We were referred to this spot by a local and were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service was good. One of the owners, Freddie, went out of his way to let us know what the vegetarian options were once he found out my parents didn't eat meat. There was live music which was absolutely wonderful and the... More

After an unwelcoming experience at a nearby restaurant, the welcoming staff at Raphael's was great. Then the happy hour. Then the sliced tuna app. Then the jumbo shrimp dinner. All amazing and topped off with a great view. The only negative was the lights did attract bugs.

We walked in one night when live musicians were playing and left because we couldn't hear each other talk. We returned earlier the next night around sun-set and all was good. 2 for 1 happy hour, great tasting fish and we finished up with a fresh baked brownie. Strange to see dogs in the restaurant but as long as they... More

Fantastic food, fantastic service. Can't ask for anything more. We had the ceviche which was awesome. Enough for two people. I also drank the broth as it tasted like gazpacho. We also had the paella which we also split between two people. We had a frozen daquari which was okay, but we don't really like tropical fruit cocktails that much.... More

This was one of our favorite meal stops on our recent tour of Costa Rica. We were with a group of 23 people and placed our orders before arriving so service was nearly immediate. The ingredients were fresh and local. The meals were well prepared, nicely presented and more than adequate to sate our appetites after a day of hiking... More

Okay, good, fine meal, but wouldn't return in favor of finding another better place. Food presentation and service were very good. Caprese salads were flavorless (tomatoes), chewy (mozzarella), and stale (crudités). Tuna, swordfish, and mahi mahi were good, not over cooked, but uninspired. No wine list, but house wines were okay. So, overall, okay, but nothing special.
