Best seat in the house overlooking the water at sunset! Spectacular views! Menu had great options for everyone including the teens. Staff was superb. Really a neat set up with the airplane as the central decor.

Definitely worth a visit! Famous old airplane, fantastic view, good food, very friendly service and squirrel monkeys at breakfast. Monkeys at breakfast...fabulous!

We regret eating here and should have listened to the reviews saying the food was mediocre. The restaurant is in a convenient location and and has good views. Those are the only good things I can say about our experience. The calamari was rubbery, a...strange color and smelled/tasted fishy. I took a bite of a few rings but couldn't eat any of it. The ceviche only tasted like lime and also didn't taste fresh. I come from coastal Alaska. I know a thing or two about seafood. In hindsight, we should have left as soon as we saw the menu. A fresh seafood restaurant shouldn't be frying a lot of things or using a heavy cream or curry sauce. To top it off, the service was terrible. We had to beg for utensils and didn't feel cared for at all. This is a kitchsy place that only survives because of tourist turnover. Please expect more and go somewhere else. You can do so much better.More

Mediocre food and service compared to competitor restaurants with the same great view. Maybe go for a drink here first and then eat somewhere else to really enjoy the night.

I have been traveling for the past month alone and have thus been dining mostly on my own. Certain restaurants have been more friendly and accommodating to solo travelers like me. I can't say that El Avion has been one of them. I tried this...restaurant 3 times since I've been in Quepos and each time was a disappointment. It was clear in the way that I was treated that I was not a priority and that the higher paying groups were. I was never given a seat with a good (or even decent) view regardless of when I showed up and was often placed in an awkward table up against a pillar in the middle of families so that I was directly facing only others eating. The staff seemed to be completely tone deaf to how awkward and uncomfortable that can be for someone without dinner company. Needless to say, I won't be back. I hope this review will be a wake up call for them and other solo travelers won't have the same experience I did. We deserve to have good views and to be prioritized too!More

To start it all off the view was breathtaking going at sunset was the best idea there was. Service excellent, server was personable and always make sure we had what we needed at all times with our being overbearing. Food was delicious, and the Seafood...Curry was exceptional. Chicken with pineapple cooked properly, moist and not dry. The pineapple was simply to die for. Highly suggested to go, who wouldn’t want to have dinner in the back of a plane with a view that is simply breathtaking.More

We had a great time at dinner here enjoying the drinks and the sunset! The food was noticeably worse than most other places we ate at on this trip, so I wouldn't recommend if you are looking for the best food in the area, but...the ambiance and service made up for it!!More

We have eaten both breakfast and dinner here. The food is very good and plentiful. The servers are very friendly. The view is just beautiful. It’s a big restaurant too, plenty of seating. Just to sum it up, we are offered free breakfast at our...hotel but we would rather pay and eat here.More

Servicié was nice but food was too expensive and too bland . The view was nice that was the only thing we liked .

Our tour guide told us: we are visiting the Costa Rica Airforce tonight. What an historic place, with an old Airplane in the middle. I was sitting in the pilots seat!!! The food was great. Thanks to the waiter who made a grasshopper for us.

I’m not sure, but don’t think so. There are plenty of taxis and also bus services.
