If your looking for a good fish restaurant in Jaco, than you have to visit La Ostra. It was the best restaurant we visited this trip. I can really recommend it and I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Jaco.

The dishes are very good. A lot of garlic butter and some additional seasoning provides a very taste flavor to all the dishes we tried. Also very good service and clean.

When visiting the beaches around this area, we always go to "La Ostra" at least once. I look forward to having octopus with a touch of garlic. Grilled tuna is another favorite! We will be going back on our next trip.!

Went here for dinner one night and had a wonderful experience. My friend and I each ordered a rice dinner and were pleasantly surprised. I had at least one piece of seafood in my seafood with rice dinner and his was the same with chicken. Would have gone back again if we were in Jaco longer!

I am a restaurant owner myself and I don't like to leave a review like this.it looked like a good place to eat and the servers were friendly. when I first ordered fried squid and it came I didn't know what it was and I didn't say anything, and then the meal came and we all were shocked what they... We ate at La Ostra three days in a row. The food was always fresh with great flavor. A bit on the pricey side. We are careful about where we eat fish ceviche: we felt comfortable doing so here and were not disappointed. Their whole red snapper was amazing. The waiters were friendly, attentive and helpful.

The absolute best! Away from the madding crowd! Absolute peace and bliss in a quiet cove. Great food but atmosphere is still unscathed by the absolute madness that has become Jaco. We started visiting this restaurant 15 years ago and it is still far enough away from Jaco to have some memories of what it was like before in the... More

Four of us recently had lunch here. We were very pleased with the quality and quantity of the food that we had. We had a beef tenderloin, fish wish seafood topping, seared tuna and a chicken salad. We were all very pleased with our food. We also ordered a seafood ceviche along with four drinks. Out total tab was $100.... More

I had the whole redfish and it was amazing! Open air dining and a full bar. Those of you who know me know I won't recommend unless it's a real winner. Enjoy! Hopkins

La Ostra has the most consistently excellent typical Costa Rican food in the Central Pacific coast. The fresh seafood is always cooked to perfection. The portions are large with a good variety including shrimp salads, seafood soup, patacones, and ceviche. For steak lovers, their peppered steak is also excellent. I have followed the owner chief, Marvin Sandi from a small to... More
