My go to place for a real costa rica breakfast. Cafeteria outside style setting. Large portions and food is great.

The line at the entrance was long for a reason. Great food served on full plates and in generous proportions. Make sure to arrive hungry. Nothing fancy but fresh and delicious. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

This place is a little treasure. Although not fancy, it is very good Costa Rican food at a very reasonable price. It is served cafeteria style and you order what they have. The owner came to our table to make sure everything was okay and ask if we needed anything. He was so great. We ended up talking to him... More

Very reasonably priced and great variety of Costa Rican meals. Cafeteria style and create your own plate. A must to experience the local cuisine.

We were looking for something quick for dinner during our spring break in Jaco and had ready very good reviews for this restaurant. We were not disappointed. You get in line and select from a couple of rice dishes, 3-4 meats, vegetables and salad. All that with a drink for less than ~$5 USD. The restaurant is clean and the... More

We don't do the tourist restaurants. "When in Rome," we always say. We asked around (the locals) for authentic Costa Rican food, and this place was mentioned the most. The food was great! Atmosphere was authentic Costa Rican. The (few) reviews that I read that were critical; obviously have unrealistic expectations while traveling abroad. They incorrectly assumed every place is... I read a lot of great reviews about this place, so my expectations were probably too high. You order your food in a buffet line, they offer pork, fish, chicken, rice and beans, veggies, some things didn't look very appealing.... It's suppposed to be local food, you eat for $5-7 a person, cheaper than most places in Costa Rica.

Fast and friendly, VERY inexpensive. Fed family of 5 for 14000 colones. Not fancy but great pollo, arroz, platanos, all the usual staple foods. Convenient location too.

As advertised. Great place to go to grab a plate of traditional Costa Rican food - and a nice break from some of the more "americanized" restaurants in town. Served buffet style. Many options to choose from. Not touristy. No frills. Just a simple, yummy, "home cooked" hearty meal.
