We went here upon recommendation of the front desk lady at our hotel. Strangely enough, Tuesday isn't a good day to eat out in Tortugero (a lot of places are closed).  We were hungry, and tired from the bus journey from San Jose, so we just wanted food. The place is next to the soccer field and the two ladies... More

I stopped in to Miss Miriam's with my family of 7. We had the most amazing feast. Great prices and incredible flavors. Highly recommended!

The food was delicious. I had chicken in Caribbean spices, plantains, two types of rice and a salad. The prices were reasonable and the staff was very friendly.

We had our first lunch here and enjoyed the food, the location, the staff and the atmosphere. We sat out the rain, drank beers, and had a fabulous fish, chicken and gallo/patacones and salad lunch. The staff were really friendly and everything tasted like expertly cooked homemade food...

My wife and I had both the chicken with Caribbean sauce and we were both a little bit disappointed. This location advertises "with Caribbean flavor", but this is actually what's missing. The sauce and rice did not stand out from any instant product. + fast service + portions big enough to satisfy our hunger - no Caribbean (our any special)... More

Although a very modest place, Miss Miriam´s serves very good food, specially fresh fish (catch of the day) and excellent "patacones" (fried green plantains). Very nice ladies attending your requests...

We enjoyed sitting outside at one of the 2 tables on the front patio. It's on the Futbol field (soccer field) and we caught a local game while we ate. We had the Caribbean Chicken. So yummy! Other dishes we saw looked great too! Wasn't a bad price, 4,500. About average for a dinner around town.

This understated restaurant was recommended by all the local residents we asked. It's located on the edge of the town's football field, so we enjoyed watching a game while we waited for our food. When the food arrived, the servings were immense! Everything was full of wonderful Caribbean spices, and the variety of side dishes added a great deal.

I specifically looked for this restaurant having read about the chicken with rice and beans. I've all but lived on this dish throughout a lot of my trip and I must say this was among the best. Everywhere is quiet right now but the food was still very fresh and tasty. The lady who served us was lovely, certainly worth... More
