This is a nice place for a change if you have had enough of Costa Rican food and want to try something different. This is an authentic place for salty and sweet pencakes owned by a friendly French couple.

My husband and I like to dine at non-typical non-touristy places. I am a foodie, he will enjoy almost anything. So when he suggested we dine at Sel et Sucre, I jumped at the chance! The restaurant is located on a side street, very easy to find. We parked our car across the street, and sat outside. The temp outside... More

We dined at this tasteful restaurant in July and were really surprised to find crepes made by a Breton couple, that exceeded our wildest expectations... The owners are a friendly French couple running a small restaurant a little off the grid in the center of town. They serve fresh juices and great pancakes and waffles. The owner uses fresh produce... Opens at noon, excellent crepes ranging from sweet Nutella and banana, to hearty options with eggs, meat, etc. Fresh blended fruit drinks, relaxing music, great value.

Amazing crepes, coffee, and more! For me, this is the best dessert spot in and around Puerto Viejo although they also offer a variety of savory crepes as well. We had the banana, Nutella, and vanilla ice cream crepe with cafe negro... Amazing! They also serve mixed drinks, have free WiFi, and cool tunes. If you are in Puerto Viejo... More

We stopped by here one afternoon and had an excellent meal of crepes with perfectly mixed drinks. The menu has a good assortment of sweet and savory options from which to choose. The owners are attentive (huband and wife) and the ambience was quite charming with a very welcoming feel. If you go to Puerto Viejo and don't stop in... More

My family visited this wonderful establishment at least three times during our week in Puerto Viejo. After in France for 3 months during high school, I was delighted to experience a real french "galette" again. Despite living on the Ontario/Quebec border, the crepes here are seriously lacking! Everything was wonderful from start to finish! From the Mellow Mood drink at... More

As avid foodies, one of our most sought out adventure was to find the best cuisine within the cute town of Puerto Viejo. Well, we certainly found Sel et Sucre the #1 restaurant in town as well as the #1 dessert place we have ever stumbled upon! The French couple who own the establishment are very accommodating hosts and highly... More
