Called in for drinks at Ricky's; great location in the centre of town.... the service seemed ok, drinks were ok... Then the trouble started. Our rucksack was stollen from next to our table at this bar. A local guy who was sitting at the bar inside (by the name of Chico), was almost certainly involved.... The tourist police were called... The " cassado" with chicken consisted of a pile of plain white rice, a very small fresh salad with a tomato slice and a piece of delicious, falling off the bone chicken. BUT: they must have forgotten the beans! Rice and beans with chicken, pretty much the same as above, but beans present and mixed with brown rice - chicken... More

My husband and I liked this restaurant because although they offered typical food like many other places in the near by area, the owner Ricky (whom we met) lived many years in Coconut Grove in Miami.....and there is the difference, the food is adorned with a twist of sophistication....it made the food that much special!

We came here to try some seafood. We came at low season and they did not have all the meals from the menu.we wanted to try octopus but it was not available. We opted for calamari and fish in coconut sauce. Both meals were tasty and arrived quickly. Also we sampled local lager called imperial. It was also good.

Like the atmosphere at this restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful with what to order as it all looked good. The food was good and tasty and soccer was on the tv so it was all set to be a good meal.

Even though it looks from outside as a tourist trap the place is wonderful; food is great and not overpriced. Wonderful service.

We were at Ricky's several times for lunch and dinner during our week in Cahuita. The fish (especially the Corvina), the BBQ chicken wings, as well as the Batidas and starters were all delicious. The staff was always nice and the food came fast. Also the prices were (especially for Costa Rica) pretty fair for auch quality foods. We would... More

We ate here after a long walk through the national park. We were hot and super hungry and shared both nachos and plantain. Delicious food, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and wonderful fresh juices!

Ricky's place is really central and opposite Cocos bar. So, you get their music, but don;t have to have it TOO loud! The food at ricky's place is brilliant. The portions are HUGE - the nachos are dirt cheap, a starter and way more than I could eat for a main meal. The chicken and fish options are good too... More
