We had dinner here for the 2nd time this week. Our first visit, we shared an appie and each had an entre. Big portions....so we had leftovers for lunch the next day. The food was delicious and amazing. The staff is very friendly and spoke...very good English. Prices were reasonable for what you got. Make sure to book ahead as this is a popular spot in Cahuita. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Costa Rica. Thank you.More

Grilled red snapper was very good and service was friendly. Price was high, but seems to be the norm in the area. We did find another restaurant with red snapper for 30% less. Biggest complaint would be high prices for what appears to be a...poor area.More

We walked down to the restaurant from the place we were staying. I had a sea bass dinner that was very well prepared and as tasty as any meal I have had. The others in my party tried different seafood dishes and they were very...good, too. The dinners came with a pretty flower on and were very well plated.More

Had dinner at this local Cahuita restaurant, just down the dirt road from our hotel, the Atlantida Lodge, on the recommendation of several local people. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and very fresh; service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant is right...on the beach, so you can see and hear the waves. Lovely and relaxing atmosphere. Reservations are not required unless you want an ocean side table. If you enjoy fish, this is a great place to eat!More

It was a great place to have a seaside meal. The food was so fresh, well prepared and delicious. We weren't rushed and were able to enjoy the atmosphere and sea breeze at a nice, pura vida pace.

Perfectly prepared fresh seafood and well made cocktails in a seaside setting. Outside tables have an unbeatable view. What more could you ask for?

I think we went to the wrong place reading other people's reviews! We booked a table for Saturday night. On arrival we weren't offered a drink, straight into food order. Our main courses arrived before we had finished our starters. My creole shrimp rice tasted...like frozen prawns with plain rice. Never even got offered dessert menu no waiter around. Very strange set up. Such a shame we had been looking forward a romantic dinner by the sea and they could have made so much more from us, we were ready to order 3 courses and wine but just gave up in the end.More

A truly special dining experience. For a night out with friends or a romantic date night this restaurant is perfect. My wife and I shared the avocado salad and tuna steak which was amazing. Great wine list and the staff provides very good service. If...you visit Cahuita, Sobre Las Olas is a must.More

We loved this place. So much, that we ate here two nights in a row. We have never done that before while on vacation. We ate outside, a dozen feet from the ocean. The food was delicious. The seafood spaghetti (a dish that is often...done mediocre) was perfect here. Tons of fresh seafood in a spicy garlic butter sauce. We will be back.More

Sea food, Italian style with an Italian owner. Simply superb! We went there maybe three nights of our ten in Cahuita, fresh catch of the day was always excellent! (and they'll lower your bill if you pay cash.
