It was perfect. The food is fresh, handmade and delicious. We were there for a small dinner after being at the beach, it’s right next to the tico-cafe and bookstore. We also took some freshmade cold drinks (ginger/lime, passionfruit).

Great service, a decent place to have a bite but nothing exceptional. Sauces are super sweet. Cucumber mojito (?) drink was terrific.

You’ll see the signs and the place as you drive by. It’s literally 3 tables and a couple of bar top seats. The kitchen can’t be more than a 5’x5’ hut. The menu is small, but these people do it right. They take simple dishes...More

The vibe is comfortable and quaint with only three tables and a five stool next to a small kitchen. The two girls are who were working were super sweet. And, the beers were so cold it was like drinking a slushee. Definitely worth going twice.

I had the parrot fish ceviche and it was amazing. The restaurant is a tiny deck with a small kitchen, really fun little spot.

This place was a fabulous find. It is tiny, but don’t let that put you off. The prawns (shrimp) are amazing and the portion sizes are large making it great value for money. We wanted to try everything!! 100% would recommend if you love prawns!

This place is the size of a peanut, or maybe a postage stamp. But awesome. It's a block or two off the main drag and worth the walk. Paper drinking straws and wooden forks. Meaning, eco friendly. Service is great. Stop in for some semi-fast...More

Very easy to miss this place. I'm glad we didn't! They serve shrimp in a variety of ways and we tried them all. Tico was my favorite but they were all delicious. There are only three tables but it wasn't crowded when we went. Highly...More

Description
The Shrimp Hole - small and casual restaurant with a sunny deck, situated only a short walk from the beautiful beach of Tamarindo in Costa Rica and on the way to Langosta. Established in 2014 by a young, food loving couple, who grew up in Europe and travelled the world before opening their dream restaurant in Tamarindo. This tiny, tropical, thirteen seater, 'hole in the wall' restaurant, beneath an yang yang tree serves a simple but mouth watering menu: Only the freshest, sustainably farmed Costa Rican shrimp, sourced directly from fish markets in Puntarenas, served in delicious, handcrafted sauces that are made fresh, from scratch, every day. We also have a delicious Bahn Mi Sandwich as our famous Lunch Special. We serve our juicy shrimps with steamed rice and a selection of fresh salads. You can also enjoy a variety of home made lemonades. ... It's the ideal after surf spot to kick back and relax after catching a few of Tamarindo's famous waves. You can grab your food to go and stroll down to the beach to watch the waves or sit on our sunny deck, watch the world go by, and experience the best outdoor seafood dining in the relaxed atmosphere of Tamarindo. We make every effort to be as sustainable as possible, using only the best, locally sourced Costa Rican ingredients in our kitchen.
