We stopped in for lunch since it was so close to our hotel, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! The fish sandwich special of the day, served with fresh juice, was delicious. The staff was very friendly – I especially enjoyed talking...with the owner/manager (not sure which) who happened to be from Nagoya, Japan which was an amazing coincidence since I used to live there. The atmosphere was cozy, and it's easy to see why this little restaurant is so successful – they obviously pay a great deal of attention to detail and serving fresh, healthy ingredients in tasty ways. Stop in when you have the chance.More
We went twice to this wonderful breakfast and lunch cafe. You start out with fresh squeezed juice of the day and the organic coffee is also great. The breakfast and lunch options are all organic and local. The service is next to none. I highly...recommend this one!!!More
We were here with 4 adults and 6 children. The staff were super friendly, they had some toys for our children to play with, and they had a kids menu. We received our food in good time and really enjoyed it! Prices can not be...beat either!More
My girlfriend and I took full advantage of Tamarindo's nightlife last night, and woke up craving a fresh, delicious breakfast but didn't have the energy to go out. La Bodega was just up the road so we thought to call and see if we could...order take-out. Despite it being their busiest time of the morning, they gladly took my order over the phone and politely informed me that the wait was longer than usual, but should be ready in 45 minutes. No problem.
I showed up 30 minutes later knowing the food wouldn't quite be ready yet. When I arrived they were at their peak of breakfast service. Patio was full of customers. Although they were busy, I was greeted immediately and the staff was so friendly. I was offered a free cup of coffee while I waited for my order. Fantastic coffee. While I waited, I watched the staff run their restaurant like a well oiled machine. They were all busy and moving with conviction, but everyone was working with a smile and it was just really impressive to see. They packed each dish with care and wrapped the boxes with napkins, cutlery, and their house-made hot sauce. (Don't leave without trying this sauce, it's amazing.)
When I finally got home to eat, we found the food to be so good. We ordered the Gallon Pinto, which is a traditional Costa Rican breakfast with rice and beans, eggs, and bacon/sausage. Simple but done so well. We also ordered the Kristina Sandwich which had eggs, smoked trout, goat chevre, tomato, and red onion. The smokiness of the trout and the creaminess of the chevre counterbalanced one another beautifully.
This place is run by a rockstar team who are genuinely passionate about the experience and food they provide. Highly, highly recommend.
Delicious Bahrain salad with coconut chicken. Vegetables were very fresh and the blackberry salad dressing was delicious. Staying at a hotel nearby and ordered takeout so we could eat by the pool. Wish we were staying longer so I could go back. Staff were helpful...and enjoyed one of my best lunches in Costa Rica. The breakfasts look delicious as well. Thanks Trip Advisor for a great find.More
Ordered the Brattain salad with grilled chicken for one and sea bass for the other. Amazing flavours and freshness. Came with plantain chips, hummus, eggplant, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, carrots, blackberry vinegrette.
Also had hibiscus tea , both of our favourites.
