Our last night in Tamarindo we spent at La Palapayo. Our waiter Michael was outstanding. He was friendly, informative and made us feel very welcome. Complimentary soup and after dinner drinks were a very nice touch. Dinner was excellent! Best dinner we had all week. Thank you again Micheal.

I read the negative reviews and yes it is expensive, but having lived here for the past 13 years, Costa Rica has become very expensive. If you want an inexpensive vacation, go to the US or Europe, you will not find it in Costa Rica. Now to the review. We ate there twice and both time had an excellent meal.... More

Came here for lunch and stuck to the sandwich menu as the entrees were priced more like dinner. Two of us had the hamburger, one had the fish sandwich and the other the ceasar salad. We sat outside but closer to inside then the beach as there was a nice breeze here. First off the flies were really annoying. I... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by some friends who visit Tamarindo twice a year and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is laid back and features an on the beach terrace, both covered and with umbrellas, right on the sand. We arrived just in time for lunch and we were lucky to catch a little bit of a rain... More

Great view of surfers and sundown. The only downfall of this place is the constant parade of vendors on the beach trying to sell things. The view more than makes up for that.

Stopped in to meet some friends for drinks and get out of the weather. It was fun and had some delicious drinks...Only complaint was that our waiter was kinda a jerk!

Great service and entertainment. Food was excellent. As we ate we watched the fire dancer light up the beach. Our server was attentive and went out of his way to ensure we were satisfied,

The most expensive place we visited! Every location to this point had been reasonable. Ironically we ran into a family from Iowa who forewarned us of the price, but we just thought that they were exaggerating having to feed a family of 5. Wow were they right. Compared to the other 8 or so places we visited this venues prices... More

My boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch one day after surfing. After flipping through the menu and seeing the prices, we decided on the fish and chips and chili burger in hope of not breaking the $35 price tag that lunch in Tamarindo usually is for us. We sat on the beach which is gorgeous, be prepared to be... More

La palapa is a must! The warm friendly service, high quality food and sunset view made this an amazing dining experience. They gave us complimentary drinks and made us feel welcome and not rushed.
