This setting could just as well be in LA or Paris; beautiful teak terracing, all handmade wood furnishing and the shining cobber from the bar and the lamps give that warmth and good feeling we all enjoy. The wait staff takes pride in being members of Team Coconut for years. It is their personalized attention that permits them to remember each client and their likings. Nowhere else will you feel as Welcome and Well attended as here. Every day the same words are repeated "The Client is the King". At El Coconut you will also find a truly professional kitchen where the main ingredients are "Heart & Soul". Who could be able to resist an Avocado filled with sauteed Shrimps, A Tropical Lobster prepared with fresh pineapple, raisins and ginger or not to forget the Surf & Turf even big enough to satisfy the hungriest surfer. Where else in Costa Rica would you find a temperate wine cellar of almost 1000 bottles? Nowhere that we know of. Our wine selection goes from the easy drinking Latin American table wines to finer selections such as Chateau Neuf du Pape, Penfold 389 and many more. Our seating capacity is more than 100. We are used to and truly enjoy arranging your special events; be that "The President's Club", incentive dinners, rehearsal dinners or weddings. Let us make your night that special night.

Loved their ceviche tapas, very nice atmosphere, great for people watching. Staff was very friendly. Pictured is coconut shrimp with mango passion fruit sauce, mahi mahi ceviche in coriander coconut cream, chicken skewer in peanut sauce, oysters with light tomato/cucumber sauce, and shrimp in avocado/tomato/onion deliciousness.

We really wanted to like this place more bc our server was so attentive and informative, but the truth is the food was just ok. We had the special wahoo fish and mahi mahi meals for lunch--both with salad and fries. Our gracious server easily let me substitute my fries for fresh fruit, and the fries were prepared well: soft... More

Wow!! Try the plantains with hummus as a starter! We keep dreaming of them. Then all of our entrees were amazing! Great table on edge of porch gave us front row view of the street fire performers!!

My wife and I had a delicious dinner here. We started out with the Tina carpaccio, which was very good. We both had the fresh catch of the day, grilled el dorado (mahi) and jumbo shrimp with a garlic butter sauce and avocado relish. That was very good, the shrimp were especially good and made me wish we had gotten... More

It was the first restaurant we tried and continues to be our favorite, El Coconut has great food! We both had a fish dish as well as ceviche and loved the whole experience. Service was friendly and quick.

We highly enjoyed dinner at El Coconut. We had the lobster in garlic sauce and the Red Snapper with shrimp in a coconut curry. Both dishes were very tasty. The ambiance was very nice. The owner, a friendly lady originally from Norway, has gone from to table to talk with her her customers and hear their feedback. Plenty of good... More
