for me this place is like home..the pearl of Samara. The owners Jenny and Marco are amazing and very friendly. Overall the staff is very nice and let you feel you are part of the Dolce Vita family!

As mentioned below, don’t get fooled but the location. The drinks were nothing special and the food was ok. They do however give you appetizers which is olives, cheese pizza and an egg dish. This was great because our kids did not like the rare...burger they were served - despite asking for it to be well done. The meat dish is a large portion that serves 2 but if your from used to delicious bbq it’s pretty plain. I did think that the service was awesome but then got told they only take cash at the end. They did serve ipa beers which saved the meal :)More

The owners are on site overseeing incredible standards are upheld, whilst raising a young family and ensuring their staff are delivering courteous and efficient customer service. The food is awesome and the atmosphere is clean. The layout is artistically configured and has decorative lighting hanging...form trees. Its reallycomfortable and funky. They helped me and made me feel so welcome. I wanted to stay longer. Its right on the beach and has heaps of shade under a gorgeous tree.More

We were 2 couples who wanted to enjoy a good meal and got fooled by the location (in front of the beach, which is the only positif point). The prices are way too overpriced for what you get, don’t get fooled by their special drinks!!! They...are double the price of what is written on the menu. Oh and also, bring your water bottle since they charge you 2500 colones for water and don’t even mention that it costs something. The service is terrible; if you have the patience and the time to wait 2 hours to get your food and then serve yourself then go ahead, otherwise I really do not recommend this restaurant. Also, we had 3 different waiters and at the end we practically had to serve ourselves because they were literally sitting on a table drinking wine. We came with a happy mood and a smile and left with frustration.More

Good food, good place but no body let you know that only accept cash. Then, you take a table with all your friends or family, eat and after that you will need to run to a bank to take cash to pay. I don't understand...why in this century people still working like 200 year ago.More

The food was good. The venue great. The server and staff very good. This is more about the business practices of this place than anything else. The bill came, and stamped on it was "TIPS NOT INCLUDED" in red ink. The credit card machine "was not...working". Cash only. On the bill was the service charge of 10%, in my case 3060 colones. Had there truly not been a tip added, I would likely have tipped my usual 25-30%. BUT, the blatant attempt to state that there was no tip included angered. me. And although I always use colones in CR, if one used USD, the exchange was 520 rather than 560 , which was typical. I would like to have uploaded a photo of the receipt but I do not see a format for that in a written review. Go there for the food, the venue, but take into account the Sevicio already on the bill - that is a tip. And bring cash.More

We always check the TA before we go anywhere but we tried this place and was disappointed. Pizza was shop bought base with an arrangement of tinned toppings and pasta was served on a slate plate on a wonky table. Our most expensive meal in...Costa Rica. The aperitif was the best thing which is offered at 4pm so get a beer and have that and don’t eat. So much potential but needs to try more!More

Food was well above average, a diaquiri and mojito i had here was outstanding, and the mixed salad was so fresh and large that it stood out as uniquely wonderful. Additionally, the beach location at night is near magical. On the other hand, they did...the credit card trick with us. One night they accepted it, and a week later they said they couldn't, which sent me off into town to pull cash out of an atm. There was no warning of the credit card outage as we sat down, and no apology. This resulted in no tip from us save for the obligatory 10% charge on bill. The food and drinks are the most expensive in town, though the quality could warrant that if not for their little games--beware of the "special cocktails", because they are 50% more than regular cocktails, and they don't tell you that. Last, both evenings featured entertainment in restaurant, and a table visit by the performers seeking tips as you eat. On food and atmosphere, this place is superior. On hijinks, i can barely recommend.More

Loved sitting on pillows right at the beach. Kids loved the swings. Atmosphere is great. Food was ok, cocktails light on the booze. Plates are strange "modern" shapes and wouldn't fit on the table. The issue is, however, when we went to pay the CC...machine was down. We had asked if they took cards when we arrived and no one gave us a heads up that in an hour there may be an issue. I get that internet may not be reliable here, but this was the only time this happened in Samara. They made us pay cash, Were kinda "meh" about it. This took all of the cash we had left for the trip. It was annoying that they gave us no other options, and didn't let us try again later to pay.More
