We enjoyed our visit for dinner. the calamari, whole red snapper and ceviche were among the best liked dishes. Knowing a little Spanish helps with communication. We'd certainly go back.

Disclaimer: only come to this place if you are not looking for a "sophisticated atmosphere." First of all, you have to leave the paved road (highway) and drive down a dirt road, pass a few shacks (people might be burning garbage next to the road) and make a short left move towards the ocean. The road stops there, and you... More

We went here for a traditional Casada breakfast and it was very good. There was seating right on the beach and the staff was very friendly. I do wish coffee refills were a thing though. Overall a great spot!

I'm so surprised to find that others found this little soda...there's no sign from the street, but it's an easy find if you are walking on the beach. We went in search of coffee our first morning and found this little place. We got the typical CR breakfast - eggs, gallo pinto, and cheese. And coffee! It was pleasant to... More

We had been to Playa Flamingo a few times, but had never tried this Soda before. We enjoyed our dinner and look forward to returning when next we visit. The seafood was very fresh. While prepared in typical Costa Rican fashion (e.g., don't expect some complicated, fragile sauce with your fish), that was what we were looking for and we... More

This is not a 5 star Zagut rated fine dining. It is a local "SODA" with open air dining, hole in wall local place. There was a dog and chicken on the grounds and walking thru resturant freely. Hammocks and good ocean view. No air conditioning, but plenty of shade and some celing fans. When we were there our party... More

This is our favorite breakfast, lunch and dinner spot near Flamingo... The typical fare is amazing and the view is to die for. Definitely our favorite soda of the area.

This place was right near where we were staying and featured casado, which we tried to eat at least one meal each day. My wife is 1/2 Tica, so every time we come to Costa Rica its arroz con frijole fest and I'm happy to tag along. What it lacks in ambience, it makes up for in local flavor, food... More

Shrimp and avocado. (dropping the mic). Reasonably priced and fantastic relaxing water view. Service can be a little slow, but with a smile and good nature.

Restaurant Estero Azul is located near Flamingo on your way to Potrero. Before you turn right at the beach at Restaurant Plemar keep on going straight all way to the back of the road (about 100m). You'll find a fisherman's house with a small eating place next to the beach. Here they'll serve you the catch of the day without paying Flamingo prices. This google search (El Estero Azul Playa Flamingo) has little information but at least lets you know it's legit. GREAT PLACE!
