Food was ok, thought it was going to be fresher as they advertise they catch and serve in the same day

Tried the lobster, was presented with three tails and shrimp with a side salad and mashed potatoes. Overall, it's good, but not mind blowing. I think it's because it was the only catch they had in their kitchen, so beggars can't be choosers. Twas a nice atmosphere. A great place to splurge if you're with a significant other.

Food was average and the selection was average. We were not in a hurry but we had kids so we ordered kid food first. Adults waited almost 2 hours for our food. It was not very busy so I don't understand the wait.

Stopped near closing and got nice whole grilled red snapper. Service was good. Excellent Mojito. Good view of the actions on the street including strolling singers.

We recently ate at Papagayo while visiting Costa Rica, and are surprised at some of the negative reviews. I suppose experiences can differ, but ours was positive all around. Our table ordered four different seafood dishes, and each was well prepared. We could tell the seafood was fresh, and it was moist (can't comment on the non-seafood fare as we... More

There was absolutely nothing good about eating at this restaurant. Service was completely non-existent even though there was only one other couple there. Bland food, over priced... No redeeming qualities at all.

The service was so bad that several times during our visit we were tempted to just leave money on the table and go elsewhere. The sushi cost twice as much as what you can get at the grocery store, and the grocery store sushi would taste better than what we had. The "blackened tuna" roll had no Cajun seasoning at... More

Been here twice, and not really impressed! The wait staff seemed to be overtaxed on both times we have been here. Food is average at best. This is a place that the tourists, and Gringos go that don't know any better! Way too pricey!

From the second floor we enjoyed a full view of the main strip. Our seafood dinner was delicious and we were even treated to a Mexican Mariachi Band. We were given a quick lesson on how to read their money amount and convert it to our Dollar by the hostess. This came in handy for the shopping we needed to... More

We had a great time at Papagayo! We sat beside the balcony with a great view of the street as well as the Sushi Boat beside the restaurant. We had the Mixed seafood and the lobster and they were terrific! Edwin looked after us and gave us great service. It was our last night in Costa Rica and it was... More
