The last dissapointment I have with this place. Today got a desert to take away(tamal asado), and found a lot of fungus on it and bad smell. On previous visit years ago had to wait 1.5 hours for a so so food.
Pros: open air; Casis fruit drinks are fabulous; and walk to trout pond, coy pond, and rabbit pen kept the kids entertained.
Cons: Waitress said trout was their best dish. So we ordered three, a mixed salad and a spaghetti for our family of four....Trout dish was $20 per person and included two overcooked whole trout filets with salad greens without dressing and overcooked vegetable medley (likely frozen and reheated). Spaghetti was pasta swimming in tomato soup, and green salad was shredded lettuce with three slices of cucumber, three slices of tomato and an average dressing. One trout would have served three people.More
The food was delicious and the portions for the price is outstanding. While waiting for our food we took a walk on the property to enjoy the trout ponds, coi fish, water fowl and a variety of farm animals.
Our waitress was very helpful and...also helped us to try and then purchase some cheese. We will definitely return.More
After visiting Irazú Volcano, when coming down you can head towards Turrialba passing by beautiful towns as Pacayas and Capellades. In the little town of Coliblanco you can find, at the side of road, this great and delicious restaurant, which offers a great taste of...Costa Rica. Trout, meat, fried plantain, tortilla with sour cream, etc. My favorite is "Olla de Carne", It´s a traditional meat and vegetables soup of Costa Rica, mmm, savory!!! Also you can buy different type of local cheeses and candies.More
This restaurant continues delivering an amazing and tasty option to enjoy typical food. The natural surroundings complement a magnificent experience.
Visit their small shops to either get some great cheeses, sweets, pastries or flowers/plants.
Come down from that your Isuzu volcano and head toward turrialba, you'll come across this lovely little outdoor restaurant on the right hand side of the road. Their specialty is trout, and the trout ceviche is really wonderful.
The food was not really OK, it was pretty bad, edible but not delicious, my stomach was literally not happy after eating chicharrones, the only good things were the dados de queso and the home-made tortilla. Those two plates plus the good service earns this...place the 2 out of 5.More
