Everytime we return to La Fortuna we definitely visit Restaurant Rancho Perla. This CostaRican owned restaurant is not your typical rice and beans restaurant. Their menu is extensive with something for everyone. (Vegetarian as well) and great Tenderloin, Tuna steak, shrimp, Seabass, Snook Filet Mignon . I have never had to send a plate back to the kitchen. Excellent and... More

We have been recommended this restaurant from our guid and hotel. Compare to a Costa Rican cousin this place was some what disappointing. The chicken casserole with the coconut milk had a bland taste, the tuna was very rubbery and only the rice and chicken tasted good . The service was good and the place was clean , I recommend... This is just down the street from Tabacon Resort so it is close to everything. Skip the overpriced mediocre resort food for this place. A Bar tender recommended this place so we figured we would try something different. The ceviche was spectacular to start with. We all were in the mood for steaks so I had the green peppercorn sauce... More

This was our most expensive meal in Costa and we were expecting to be blown away. We had steak with what was supposed to be gorgonzola, but I'm certain it was mushroom. It was ok. Just ok. We also ordered seared tuna and it was sub par. Chewy, overcooked and tasted processed or something. Our kid ordered hamburger and it... More

Only stopped in for lunch. Our guide warned us not to order appetiser & main, he was right! I had fresh tuna salad starter, delicious & easily enough for a main. My wife had the best seafood salad she said she ever tasted. Don't know what mains were like but highly recommended for a lunch. Staff friendly you can walk... More

We showed up hoping for an early supper and they were closed but instead of turning us away they welcomed us and and we had the whole place to ourselves. The food was awesome and the service was incredible! The owner even showed us a sloth and some frogs that we had not yet been fortunate to see.

Went to Rancho Perla with a party of 16. We waited over one and a half hours for our meals and when they finally arrived they were not properly cooked. Sent back one meal which was replaced by another still not cooked thoroughly. One of our large party ended up with food poisoning. Go there at your own risk.

Recommended by our hotel desk, this meal wow'ed us! For $15/person, we had huge portions and great flavors. Loved it! Order before buses arrive!

While traveling on a Expeditions Tropicales Day tour to Arenal Volcano, we stopped at Rancho Perla. Our meal was very good and served promptly in an open air dining room.

We came here as part of a tour group. The good was great and although fairly pricey was of very good quality. The absolute star was our waiter Marvin, who I think was in training, but he was so kind and attentive he really does deserve a special mention. My husband had the special which was yellow fin tuna which... More
