We stopped in here for both lunch and breakfast. Fantastic food each time. Highly recommended if you're looking for local flavor at a great price.

Our hotel used El Rio for their free breakfast but we also ended up eating dinner there too. The staff was very friendly and the dishes hot, fresh, and delicious. The fresh mango juice for breakfast was wonderful.

Best meal we have had since we arrived in Costa Rica. The chicken a la plancha is particularly tasty. No beer though so bring your own.

Breakfast was A+, really enjoyed the gallo pinto with fried eggs. Very flavorful, my friends and I are still dreaming of it. Dinner was B-, tried the casado with the beef (bistec), meat had somewhat unpleasant undertones. Ambiance is typical of a local 'soda' - super casual. Waitress was lovely. Wifi is nice and strong. Bathrooms are not clean.

We had our breakfast here as part of our stay at hotel monte real. Fresh fruit, juice, coffee and a choice of egg/ham/bacon combinations or rice and beans.it was very nice. Service was friendly with good English spoken. I would have tried it for dinner if I had been staying longer

We tried this restaurant because our hotel gave us breakfast vouchers. Their breakfast was real good. The fruit is so fresh. So we decided to try it for lunch. Lunch was also very tasty. I got the chicken and rice which was the best I had eaten. My husband loved his meal also. And the prices are great. The service... More

It is a clean place with nice owners. Food is average and price is good. It is hard to believe but Costa Rica is as costly as America and more in food at times.

Our hotel gave us vouchers for breakfast here every morning. The bacon was delicious. There were a few options. We ate here twice and breakfast meals were good both times. Service was good as well.

Our hotel provided vouchers for free breakfast at El Rio each day of our stay. The service at El Rio was great. They staff were very friendly. They also had several options covered by our vouchers. The food was pretty average compared to other sodas we'd visited throughout our trip. Their coffee was OK at best (though I am particular... More
