We ordered the specialty (chicken) and it was very good. It was accompanied with corn tortillas (delicious) and sauces. Also, the Te frio (iced tea) was really nice - had lime flavor and was a nice change of pace. This is a great place to take kids/families as it is informal yet good.

It seemed like such an inviting place. It is open air, has a great atmosphere, but be prepared to wait and then wait some more. We thought that 2:00 pm would be off-peak but that certainly was not the case. There were maybe nine tables in the restaurant and lunch took 1 hour and 45 minutes. There were plenty of... More

If you want to eat good, have great shakes with fresh food and good coffee! La Choza del Laurel is he place to visit. The staff is great. I have a picky eater who was in love with their chicken fingers. Highly Recommended!!!

I took my family here to try to ween them off some of the more touristy restaurants. It's not exactly a soda (C.R. snack bar) but it has good local food, great batidos and they do coffee as a tableside preparation. Also great for kids.

Came to this restaurant at the suggestion of a local and we were very pleased. Prices are great. I got the "typical" lunch meal. Portions were huge. Food was tasty. Service was good as well. Other items on menu also looked great. We got nachos to share and again portion was large and food was great.

Dinner Was Seriously Overpriced & Just Ok! We ordered a plate for two and it had 2 small pork ribs, a small tough steak, a chicken thigh and leg and some shrimp in garlic. The sides were small too. We thought it was $28 for the plate when we ordered and it was $28,000 colones!!! Turns out to be over... More

Great dining experience with kids. The food was spectacular and fairly affordable as well. Make sure you get the locally made drinks, so good. This will not disappoint...

There is a lot of local food to choose from and it is all very good. The server was friendly and spoke better English than I did Spanish. Both the food and the service were great. It is a nice local restaurant and I enjoyed it very much.
