Buttermilk Hill is our favorite restaurant. We had dinner there on a Wednesday evening. They take reservations and I suggest that you make them. We had a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio. I started with the soup of the day, chicken quinoa. My wife had a house salad with a delicious balsamic dressing on it. I had seared Ahi tuna... More

Enjoyed the buttermilk potatoes and peach bread pudding in a charming atmosphere. Amy was attentive and friendly. The chef and owner, and her mother, also stopped by to thank us for visiting. Great food and friendly people. Drive slowly when you get close. Parking lot and driveway are hard to see from the road.

Kara, the owner and chef for the night was very personable and did a wonderful job creating a delicious, succulent dinner. The filet was like butter and the tuna was wonderfully fresh. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quaint and comfortable. Kari, our waitress was very attentive with a great personality. She was very knowledgable of the menu and always... More

My mom and sisters are visiting Alabama on a "ancestors " hunt. We went here based on the reviews and were not disappointed . It was a charming old house and the food was great. I got the shrimp and grits which was very good and we split desserts. The bread pudding is a must to try! We went on... More

There are certain things that separate chefs from people who cook food. For me, one of those things is risotto. Chef Kara makes the best risotto in the south. A completely wonderful dining experience. Great decor within an old Victorian home. From salad to dessert (I highly recommend the blueberry bread pudding) every thing was perfect. Tired of overpriced food... More

On our way to New Orleans for several days of creole/cajun indulgence we stopped in Sylacauga for the night. Tripadvisor led us to this wonderful little restaurant and we are so glad we followed their advise. The setting is nice, in an old house in a neighborhood close to downtown. Service was nice but the quality of the food is... More

This is by far one of our favorite places to dine in Sylacauga. It is a gorgeous renovated house with lots of charm and atmosphere. It is the perfect setting for a romantic night out, as well as a great place to plan your office Christmas party. The food is excellent - I've been a number of times over the... More

Buttermilk Hill is our favorite place to eat and it did not disappoint us. We took good friends with us (one a native New Orleanian and the other lived in New Orleans for 30 years so they are accustomed to real good food). We started with wine for the ladies and drinks for the gentlemen. Then salad and chicken noodle... More

My husband and I tried Buttermilk Hill for the first time on Valentine's Day. We cannot say enough about how delicious every morsel into our mouths tasted from the soup to the dessert. Even the butter tasted as if someone just churned it in the back. We enjoyed a prix fixe menu for this special occasion, but I do believe... More
