As Good As Remembered

After enjoying the Mardi Gras parade in Mobile the trio had decided to stop at Ed's Seafood Shed on our way back to the Eastern Shore. Two of the trio are long time residents of the Eastern Shore and had eaten at Ed's many times. The third member is a new resident but had eaten at Ed's a... read more

We found this restaurant about three years ago and enjoyed. Went to football game in Montgomery so decided to the extra 170 miles for the food.

Wasn't overly impressed. Food was OK service was OK and atmosphere was OK. I would maybe stop in for lunch sometime but won't be going back for dinner. So many choices on the causeway that offer a little more for your money.

I go to Ed's all the time with my family and recently went last night. Ed's has not only a wonderful view of Mobile bay, but a wonderful environment that makes you just want to keep coming back. We got there around time for the sun to set and it was like something out of a magazine. In my opinion,... More

Went to Ed's with several coworkers for lunch 12/16/15. Easy seating due to the rain. They immediately brought cole slaw for the table, but I didn't try it. Others found it very good. I ordered a grilled chicken salad with vinaigrette and unsweetened iced tea with lemon. It took a little time to get served, but not inconsistent with the... More

We had catfish and fried shrimp. The Cole slaw was good. Shrimp was perfect lightly breaded and sweet. The catfish batter really good. Only complaint, food was placed on top of the potatoes....hate that, I want my fries, etc to taste like fries not fish

Food was very good. We made reservations for 5:30 and they had no table for us! Upsetting for us and our friends. Waitress was attentive to our needs.

Enjoyed my visit to Ed's Seafood Shack. I had the fried shrimp platter which came with fried potatoes and hushpuppies. It was an excellent, fresh seafood meal.

I had dinner on the outside upper deck overlooking Mobile Bay. Great view. The service was excellent. The seafood was overall very good, other than the raw oysters. I have had better. I would still return to this restaurant, though.

Ed's was always a great place to eat. It was a family favorite, however through the years the food servings has grown smaller and not quite as good. it's still a good place for a business meeting but as a family we don't go there anymore. My son's favorite use to be the calamari rings but the last time we... More
