Having been to the other 'Urban Thai' restaurant in Shanghai, (yes there are two under the same name and ownership), I wanted to try this restaurant as well. It is much smaller than the other Urban Thai but it is just as cosy and has...a nice ambiance. The menu has some great options, including most of the usual Thai favourites. I started with 4 pieces of Chicken Satay and 3 pieces of Crispy Spring Roll. The Spring Rolls were excellent but the Chicken Satay whilst good did seem as it wasn't cooked fresh there and then. I had the Pork Pad See Ew noodles for my main and these were also very good, I asked for spicy and they were the perfect heat for my personal taste. Service was friendly and efficient and my food was nicely presented on nice tableware. Prices are very reasonable with my 3 dishes and a Coke Zero coming to RMB147 (circa GB£17). Credit Cards are not accepted so make sure you have enough cash. Take Away food is possible. In summary I would certainly go back... Highly recommended.More

After 2 weeks of just Chinese food I had the opportunity to meet this place...great! Prawn coconut soup and fried prawns with asparagus were very deliciously!

A very small but nice place to eat real Thai. It is like eating in the kitchen of a Thai family. The place is small, not elegant but clean and nicely colored. The food is really good, and not expensive. I strongly suggest a visit.

We went here instead of nearby Mi Thai tonight. We left feeling “meh!” The restaurant is small and simple, in a cute way. The service was fine and the food was inexpensive. Unfortunately, nothing stood out as particularly impressive - the Tom Yong Gong Soup...was fine, but lacked the spice we liked. The Pork Green Chili was super spicy, but not special in anyway. Our appetizer - the mango spring roll - was actually served last and was, likewise, uninspired. We walked in wanting a great experience. We left thinking the next time we are craving Thai, we’ll probably opt for someplace else.More

This is a small, cozy restaurant situated in the city center, not far from the metro station. The menu is not that big, but still offers a wide-variety of Thai dishes. I tried Tom Yum soup with prawns, which was a little bit spicy but...i really like the taste. Also i tried spring rolls, which are kind of fresh veggies with mango and with sauce, so they are good for the starters. The big plus is that they have options for vegetarians and vegans, therefore everyone can find something to try whatever diet he or she follows. And if you like something sweet, try coconut pudding, it is stunning and the portion is small, so you can't overeat)) I had a pleasant dining experience here, the food was delicious, music was good, the atmosphere was calm and the waitress with a good sense of humor (and is always ready to help you). That's why I can recommend this place to visit to everyone and of course i will come back to try more tasty dishes))More

The place is not big, but warm and cosy, ideal also for solo travelers. The mussels for starter is a must and the Tom Yum soup was really good. It would be a five star if the Pad Thai taste was a bit better, the...rice noodles were really sticky and something was definitely missing. Saying that, nothing was left in the plate at the end. The person who served was kind, a very likable figure. A positive culinary experience all in all.More

*Location * The area is nice and the street is lined With lovely pavement cafes and bars . Where you can find Urban Thai . You can't t miss it . As you enter the place you are welcomed by a magnificent settings which let...you plunge into Thai atmosphere and vibes. *Menu* Their menu offer a wide variety of appetizers , main courses , beverages and their cocktails 🍹 their cocktails are something special . A waiter offered their NEW particular drink called "Tropical Coconut Rum Cocktail " which is not even on the menu list so I took it . Such a nice mix by combining coconut and Rom and it's all served in the the coconut . By the way to avoid a tipsy feeling after the first drink you can ask to add less rom 😜😜😜😜😍😍😍 Somehow gives you a feeling like you are enjoying you beach time under the Palm. Food is delicious . Our ordering included a lot of dishes so we shared . I must notice their soup 🍜 is incredible . Once you try you feel it all cooked with love ❤️ By the way once you are sensitive to spice food you can ask to cook According to you. *Staff* Waiters are polite and speak English . Moreover they are very helpful and Nawadi who served us is such a nice guy. Thank you. *General details * The place has two floors . It's clean inside . Have a cozy interior . WC is clean . Definitely a right choice to have a dinner or to spend there a romantic evening. Recommend!More

I’ve eaten here a few times and always enjoy the flavors. The friendly staff is good about asking level of spiciness so you can choose your level of fire. The menu has 2 pages of vegetarian food which is rare in Shanghai. Green tofu curry,...stir fried watercress, vegetarian Tom yum soup and vegetarian pad thai are all recommended. Mango and sticky rice is a great way to end the meal. I’ll be back.More

That was the most off putting Thai meal i've ever had. The larb gai was sweet.... wth? Mai arroi.. so disappointed. Som Tam..... a thai would not eat it, no flavor. Chicken cashew.....it was like chinese stir fry chicken with a couple tiny pieces of...cashew. For a farang this place might be ok.... but not for anyone who knows better. It's possible they might of had an off night or something but there are def more authentic options in Shanghai. Doesn't taste like a Thai chef.More
