THE location in Shanghai to have authentic and special Italian food, although they have the best thin crust pizza of the city, it's not a pizza place. A passionate Italian owner is running it with incredible hospitality, crazy about good food, making his own bread and imports the important Ingredients directly from Italy. For some years my weekly place to... More

While the former Italian team in service and kitchen had some a little excessive style which may not have pleased everyone- food used to be great. Now this place goes the same way as so many other places in the last months in Shanghai : once the former team sees their visa not extended and /or their ownership put under... More

This restaurant has excellent food! Prepared by a chef from Milan, Italy, and managed by a Spanish owner. You feel the autheticity of the food with every bite. The pizza is fantastic! I will be back for more! Also try the Spanish tapas restaurant right next door. It is the same owner.

The chef walks around and talks to guests. Ask them what the fish special is and order it! If it's nice out, it has a great outdoor seating area.

I enjoyed Nolita quite a bit! The staff were fantastic, helping us with drinks and suggestions. The chef also came out to speak which was really special. Our group had outdoor seating and purchased from the set menu which included wine and prosecco plus 3-4 courses all for 250RMB! The courses were small but pretty good. I hoped for slightly... More

The last time I dined at Nolita, the owner told us they will sell the business soon. We just visited them again last Saturday, they just changed the manager and the chef. The restaurant tried to maintain the standard they usually have, also give some good offer at menu, with the course come with a bottle of wine and this... More

This place deserves success. The food they serve is delicious. I really enjoyed the frutti di mare risotto. Besides their wine selection is pretty good and at decent price. Their staff is also super friendly and professional. Frankly speaking the best Italian restaurant in shanghai.

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
