This Italian restaurant may be in Shanghai but it is one of the best Italian dinners I have ever had. I began with a beef carpaccio and arugula salad. The beef carpaccio melted in my mouth, quite literally. Unlike others I have had that can be tough or stringy, this carpaccio was perfect. I followed this with a black truffle... More

The location in front of the Pearl Tower is impressive especially in the evening; food is excellent, various and really Italian. Price is affordable for lunch selecting brunch menu, higher for dinner

The view is the best to see the heart of new part of Shanhgai. The restaurant has really the best position. The tables are covert like to be in Italy and the servis is the same quality. The best servis till now in Shanghai. And the weather will explain you a lot of things, you need to know as a... More

Undoubtedly amazing view of the oriental tower - in the IFC so very expensive but that being said the pizza I ordered was satisfying and even made it back to my hotel room!

You can go for the lunch set menu (starters and desserts as buffet + main course) or a la carte. While not exactly cheap, with the first option you can end up really full and feel you paid little. A la carte dining is a bit pricey, I would say, but still worth trying: the location and service are very... More

We've had a brilliant dinner at Isola. Such a beautiful place with the view to the Oriental Pearl Tower. It was very hot outside, so we didn't get to use their terrace but in cooler months it would be simply amazing to go on. I ordered the Chef's signature Lamb and it was to die for, full of flavour and... More

My first visit here after a friends recommendation - needed a good, impressive venue with my manager in town! The location on the Pudong side of Shanghai was a great alternative to the norm on the Puxi side. Excellent view of the Oriental Pearl. The service was precessional and attentive, however one of the waiters couldn't explain the difference between... More

Been to Isola a few times before. Noticed that both their service and food are even better than 2 years ago! Went their on Mother's Day last week. Food was good but a bit slow on replenishing the buffet. Service was excellent even when they're busy. Consistently good!

location is simply great but it's not enough to justify the price. Italian food well done but service is too slow.

Great view of pearl tower. Restaurant decor is nice. Pizza is really nice. Pasta was cold, salty and overpriced. Much better Italian options in Shanghai.

Owned by the Hong Kong based Gaia Group, which is renowned for stylish and authentic Italian restaurants in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Isola always enjoyed the reputation in the fine tastes of Italian haute cuisine.
As the largest restaurant in Shanghai IFC with over 1000㎡ (10800 sq.ft.) of dining area, ISOLA Shanghai can seat 180, with additional 100 seats on the balcony area, and 30 in the bar area.
Designed by the world-renowned interior designer Hugh Zimmern, who also part-designed the "Commune by the Great Wall", the entire dining spaces are enveloped in elegance and tranquillity, reflecting a very contemporary level of designs, combining the classic 'white on white' reminiscent of its Hong Kong counterpart, leading from the dining hall, VIP rooms and intimate cocktail lounge. Its vast outdoor terrace affords stunning view over the beautiful skylines of Shanghai financial centre, making Isola Shanghai every inch this cosmopolitan city's hottest dining destination.
The open kitchen concept is both modern and lively. The dynamic artworks highlight the dining room's clean white walls, and the Futurist-inspired motif represent the urban industrial vitality that is today's Shanghai.
With a focus on fresh and authentic regional Italian cuisine, Chef Marco Busatti's menu offers a popular selection of traditional Italian salads, homemade pastas, stone baked pizzas (including Isola Hong Kong's famed 'Trifola' black truffle pizza), and an extensive choice of oven baked fish and seafood, and roasted meats.

Staying in Lujiazui

Neighborhood Profile
When people speak of Shanghai’s futuristic skyline, it’s the financial district of Luiazui they are speaking of. Shanghai’s most iconic buildings are located in close proximity to Lujiazui’s elevated ring road and swanky eateries. Sky-high shopping and chic bars fill the highrises around the area. As is characteristic of a world-class financial business district, some of Shanghai’s best malls and hotels can be found in the neighborhood. While everyone on the famous Bund side of the river gazes in awe at these amazing structures, all the buildings here, as well as Lujiazui’s riverside promenade, offer great views of the historic buildings all along the Puxi side. The Lujiazui park often hosts music festivals throughout the year, and park goers can party and stroll in the shadow of some of the world’s tallest buildings.
