Every time when I'm visiting at Shanghai, I try get back to Gintei. So there are quite several visits already. Simply, food is really tasty and good quality. Especially sashimi and all hibachi grill items. Service is also good. Restaurant is quite close to center, but still quite difficult to find, however, with taxi we have not had any problems.... If you are looking for a place that can fulfill all of your needs of Hibachi style eating this is the place for you. They cater to ex-pats. You will not go away without being full. All kinds options and you can keep ordering food and drinks the whole time you are there.

I have been there several times. The food is amazing! You can choose Sushi, Sashimi, fried fish, BBQ, etc. All you can eat. Drinks are included. It is not the fanciest place and the service could be better. But the food quality is great for the price. Was never disappointed. Reserve in advance if you want to sit in front... More

My family and I came here for AYCE lunch the last time we were in Shanghai. We were so happy with our experience at this restaurant. The food was surprisingly good (we come from Vancouver so our standard for Japanese food is quite high). Service was also good and I would recommend making a reservation if you plan to go... More

My experience at this restaurant was excellent. I ordered seafood and much other items and they were great quality foods. Although, it may seem expensive, it was well worth it. I could never pay for all that food and fresh here in Canada for that price. It was all you can eat and drink! I thought the service was excellent.... More

Food is good, as with every teppanyaki in Shanghai really, but service is lackluster, they hurried us up and served everything at once instead of after each other. While at other places they take veggies on the hot plate as well, here they bring them out. Plates are placed in central positions, not in front of everyone individually, thus they... More

Couldn't understand why it's listed as Yin Ting but the restaurant is called Gintei? Quality of food is not too bad but the staff definitely need to understand that customers don't like to hear them or see then clearing up the tables. The noise is so destructive to the atmosphere.

Good food and nice service. The place itself is nothing special . Good value for money! Will come back. Everything is good, fish, meat and dessert.

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
