Was there with a friend when i was in Shanghai for a short trip, had ordered mysore masala dosa, veg tandoor platter and jeera rice, masala dosa was not so good, jeera rice was below par expectation and only thing acceptably good was the veg tandoor platter with nice sizes of the veggies done to the tandoor style.

Well laid out seating, good service, tasty n fresh food. The option to sit in the open courtyard is a bonus. I tried some vegetarian dishes and they were very good. Overall a satisfying experience

This Indian restaurant giving a very good view of the river Huangpu is a good place for Indian food. Food was well prepared and served very hot and our group greatly enjoyed the same. Staff members were very helpful. It also prepared Jain food for some members of our group and also has a takeout facility as our group collected... More

Located in central area, in food court, this restaurant is on first floor . Catch the balcony sitting area to enjoy nature while having your meal. Food quality is good, but their deserts are average. Needs to improve and avoid putting edible colourful for carrot halwa, duchies halwa etc. decently priced. Jain food also available here which is appreciated.

Just a short walk from our hotel we decided to have some tasty Indian food after several weeks of Asian style foods. Must say this was very good and hit the spot. Service good and price reasonable. Recommended if you are in the area.

Staying in Former French Concession

Neighborhood Profile
Former French Concession
While there are technical borders to the area formerly governed by the French in Shanghai, the "French Concession" of today is an amorphous neighborhood that is a favorite of the city's foreign residents. While it is mostly within the Xuhui district, residents will sometimes include parts of Jing'an and Luwan in their mental maps of the Former French Concession. The area seems frozen in time, characterized by quiet, tree-lined avenues, French-style villas, interesting boutiques, lively bars and quaint cafes that are not typical of China. All of these mix and mingle with local life as Chinese markets and lanehouse communities are peppered throughout. Denizens of the Former French Concession can spectate a mahjong game on the street or get their bike checked at a tiny bike repair store on the way to their refurbished apartment tucked away among Chinese family homes.
