I was really excited about visiting this restaurant because of the feedback received on tripadvisor. My husband and I planned our day around having lunch here. I am a big dumpling/dim sum fan and often eat this sort of cuisine in London. Unfortunately this restaurant...More

The food was definitely tasty and traditional. But it was extremely expensive. If you dont mind the price, go ahead. The food is delicious, but in my opinion, dont go there if you are short on money. There are still great dumpling shops out there

I am a die-hard fan of dumplings and when I read the reviews of this restaurant, I couldn't stop myself going to this restaurant. True to its name, I had one of the best meals ever and surely the best dumplings. Their signature dumpling with...More

Being in Shanghai, one has to have the famous Shanghainese dumplings. Din Tai Fung is one of the most reliable chains and there is one unit right next to the Portman Ritz Carlton. Good shiaolong baos, but I liked the steamed buns with vegetables better....More

I had dinner here and lunch at the Old City branch. Did not have to wait for a table and instead found the service fast and efficient. I liked the sides and appetisers, but the mains were nothing memorable. Granted, I'm not a fan of...More

Clean, quick (apart from queues to get in) and consistent. A must if visiting Shanghai. Apart from the Xiaolongbao (steamed dumplings), stand out dishes are chilli cucumber, stir fried cabbage and bacon and pork/shrimp spicy dumplings. AMAZING. You will be back here again and again.

This place was PACKED when we walked in, but luckily our local colleague had gotten there to get us a table before the lunch rush. This is your place to get the famous Shanghai soup dumplings and you will not be disappointed. The spicy cucumber...More

The refurbishment of a block of old shikumen into a
carless entertainment center called Xintiandi, filled
with restaurants, shops and bars, turned this area
below South Huangpi Road into one of Shanghai’s most
fashionable areas. Luxe condos house people who can
afford the high-end brands that fill the malls and
shops along Madang Road. The pleasant Taipinghu Park
provides the area with green space and is also home to

Ding Tai Fung does not post their prices online. The queue could be long during meal times, however, they would give you a menu to order ahead of time. This list would indicate the prices to you. It may be slightly more... More
