Soooo good! First, tidy, super clean restaurant located in the very quaint historic downtown district of Prattville. Second, food is really good. You order at the counter, for either take out or dine in. We had the Crawfish Etoufee and Crabmeat Au Gratin. Both very...tasty, both served with homemade cornbread biscuits. Of course we indulged in dessert—-Italian Creme cake, and Pecan Pie—both excellent. If you are near Prattville, skip the chains and visit Uncle Mick. You will not be disappointed. Oh, they don’t serve beer/wine, but if you need that you can go next door to Teddy’s for an after dinner nip.More

I just want to save folks the trouble of driving there while they are closed. I don't know when they will be open for business. No one answers the phone as well. I visited October 10, 2022.

While the food was ok, it wasn’t what we expected. My crab creole was pretty good but my wife’s chicken and sausage gumbo watery. It is not a destination restaurant for sure. Plus they closed at 730 pm.

Very unique restaurant. There is a buffet of a variety of entrees and side dishes. To help us decide, the lady gave us samplings of different entrees. This was great. We knew exactly how the dish tasted. Plus you can order just the entree in...small or large cup, or do a dish with two sides in a small plate or large plate. Our meals were very good. A welcoming and friendly staff.More

If heading So. on I-65 it's well worth the stop off in a beautiful little town (Prattville). The food, atmosphere and owner are fantastic (yes, there is a real Uncle Mick who is Cajun). Place was packed with several locals as well as people who...had heard via word of mouth (like myself)More

Other travelers are correct! This is a hidden gem! Definitely worth a visit! You will NOT leave hungry. There was a line at the door before opening time. Uncle Mick let everyone come in to cool off before the restaurant was officially open. He offered...samples to everyone and personally came to our table to talk with us and thank us for dining there. Service was fast and friendly and the food was DELICIOUS and plentiful!More

Visited Uncle Mick’s after a day at the RTJ Golf courses in Prattville. Neat place, service is cafeteria style, very laid back and welcoming. Between the four of us we had a wide sampling of the food; it was all excellent. The chicken and sausage...gumbo over dirty rice was my favorite, the red beans were wonderful. We all had dessert, bread pudding, caramel cake, chocolate pecan pie, all heated up by Uncle Mick and served with bourbon sauce. Uncle Mick visited with us and gave us a lot of interesting information about Prattville and his restaurant. Couldn’t have had a better meal or a better time!More

I could write an entirely-too-long review about this place, but I'll try to keep it short and sweet. I'm a regular here as I work right down the street. The sweet lady at the buffet has basically memorized my order (pork tenderloin on dirty rice,...cajun potato salad, lima beans, and corn bread)! I've brought several friends and family here, and every time, an employee will offer us extra corn bread after we're finished eating for our to go boxes. Have you ever heard of such a thing?! Marvelous location, marvelous food, and marvelous people. Uncle Mick, thank you for blessing our town with your food and sweet smile! I'll be back (probably too often)!More

Exceptional Cajun food. Came here with the family. Just walk up and have what you want served cafeteria style, sit down, and enjoy the best Cajun food outside of Louisiana.

Amazing food!! Customer service was excellent also! When you walk in they ask if it’s your first time and then if it is they immediately give you samples of food! I ended up with the chicken & sausage gumbo with potato salad and Lima beans,...it was sooo good and AUTHENTIC!! We lived in Louisiana for 7 years and this food made me feel like I was right back there. The potato salad has a Cajun spice to it that is perfect! Can’t wait to go back.More

Given the setting of the small town and the atmosphere of the quaint restaurant, I would say, 'no'. Alabama has some unique rules regarding sales/consumption of alcohol and to be absolutely certain, you should ask in advance.
