This restaurant is a great place for lunch! We selected our food from the cafeteria style counter. I had the alligator, my husband had the shrimp gumbo. It was amazing! My daughter had a coconut dessert that was delicious! Thank you!!

First class. Don't know which is better, the food or the service. Genuine Cajun food at it's best. Nice atmosphere. Don't miss this game.

Best meal in town! Uncle Mick asked me if this was my first visit. He let me sample soe of the dishes before I ordered. My lunch with friends consisted of the shrimp a la creme, bourbon chocolate pecan pie and corn maque choux. I do not even like corn but I liked the corn. The service was as good... More

We eat here regularly and are never disappointed. It is by far the best meal in Prattville. Hospitality is as good as the food. While it is a little ways off the interstate, it is worth the trip downtown.

We ordered takeout and the entire experience was good. The service on the phone and when we showed to pick up our food was excellent. The food was good, but not as seasoned or spicy as I expected, so that was a bit of a drawback. We ordered 3 entrees and extra garlic bread. The dirty rice is the best... More

We went here at the suggestion of a lady at the Alabama Wecome Station. This was great! Nothing fancy. Just great food made by nice folks! I had a split plate; etouffee and gumbo. Both were super. The service is cafeteria style. The server suggested trying a sample before you pick. I had several. All were good! My wife had... More

Thanks, RussellP, for your 5-stars! And thanks to the lady at the Alabama Wecome Station for recommending us! The split entree is a GREAT choice when you can't make up your mind and want TWO entrees :) We're glad you and your wife found something you liked - this is why we have the cafeteria setting - so y'all can... On Main Street in downtown Prattville AL. Great food. Owner gives you samples before you buy so you can decide what you want to eat. Serves alligator, shrimp, sausage and lots of sides. Great place to visit. They do offer a military discount.

Got an ahnvee for some Cajun cooking?

Uncle Mick's Cajun Market & Cafe is a family-owned and operated restaurant located in the heart of historic downtown Prattville, Alabama. Our Cajun food is always hot, fresh, and ready to be served.

Come as you are and enjoy authentic Cajun cuisine in our friendly, family atmosphere - where you're only "one bite away from the bayou! "Dine in" or "take-out" - the choice is yours.

Not sure about the Crawfish or Corn Maque Choux?

No problem!

We encourage our customers to sample a variety of our entrees BEFORE making that BIG decision.

Not all of our food is spicy – we have a little something for everyone.

If you prefer to "fire it up" we have our own blend of Cajun hot sauce we make right here in our kitchen.

Choose from Cajun entrees like Crawfish Etouffee, Seafood Gumbo, or a customer favorite, Shrimp a la Creme! We also have a nice selection of vegetables and desserts. We even have a child's plate for kids that don't know yet how much they LOVE Cajun spices.

We have a Private Dining Area for parties up to 30 people - call for availability and reservations. We are only 20 minutes from Montgomery, 10 minutes from Interstate I-65, 15 minutes from Maxwell AFB, and conveniently located in central Alabama within the Montgomery River Region.

There REALLY IS an "Uncle Mick"! Mickey Thompson, owner and manager, opened the doors at Uncle Mick's Cajun Market & Cafe on Mardi Gras Day in 2009, providing a piece of Southern Louisiana in the middle of "The Fountain City".

Does Uncle Mick’s really serve alligator?

Yes we do!

Ask Uncle Mick for a free sample. We promise it won’t bite!
