The building doesn't look like it would be home to fine dining but appearances are deceiving. Local ingredients, wonderful wait staff, fresh cuts of meat, original recipes, and an excellent chef. It is the best restaurant in the area by far. It is expensive but as they say you will know where that money went

This was my second trip to Garfrericks Cafe. The meal begins with fresh bread and butter. We had the eggplant Parmesan for an appetizer. It was a deconstructed version that was lovely. My husband enjoyed the shrimp and grits and I enjoyed the lamb chops over grits with cherry sauce and mushrooms. I had water and my husband had tea.... More

The decor is crisp and modern. The food is delicious and fresh! I had a chicken pesto sandwich on focaccia. The chicken pieces were huge and moist. My accompanying salad tasted wonderful- mixed greens with a balsamic vinaigrette. Side note: their tea was very good and the butter for the bread basket was especially surprising. From Wrights Dairy in Alexandria-... More

The service in the restaurant was exceptional! Although the food appeared to be fresh ingredients, my Southwest chicken was a bit cold and uneventful. My salad was very much over salted. My husband's shrimp and grits was average at best. The restaurant itself was clean, but lacking in atmosphere of any kind. I believe this restaurant has a good idea... More

This is an upscale place to eat. They grow much of their own food and the service is good. This is a "chief" type of restaurant. It has an open kitchen and you can watch the food being prepared. It's the kind of place you would see in a larger city but has the service and price of a smaller... More

Trip Advisor has this restaurant closed on Mondays, but they are open. Can't say enough about this restaurant. In area for several days with clients, was ready for the typical chain fare. Looked at Trip Advisor reviews and decided to give them a try. Do not be dissuaded with Strip Mall, location or a few negative reviews. This place is... More

Maybe one of the best restaurants, between Birmingham and Atlanta. Always fresh, always delicious and always superior to the competition!

A wonderful farm to table restaurant in Oxford, AL. Sit at the Chef's Table and watch them prepare your food, ask questions of the pleasant chefs and gain ideas to try at home. Many of the vegetables are grown on the owner's farm. Local cheese & wide variety of fish. Desserts made in house. Unusual handmade serving dishes. Very clean.... More

Read about the pecan encrusted grouper and had to try it! It was excellent! It was a little pricey but delicious, the wait staff was very good and attentive.

We visited Garfrerick's at around 1.30pm on a Sunday. Although the food was good, several things made our experience not-so-good. First, the waitress was very slow in refilling drinks. Then one of our dishes arrived without the corn bread that should have accompanied it. When I asked about this, the waitress told me that they were out of cornbread (which... More
