Just okay. We read good reviews about Wintzells and finally decided to give it a try. Pros: -very friendly staff -fried pickles were great -we went just before the dinner rush and were seated quickly. -seafood gumbo was tasty. Cons: -My wife had the Cole slaw, it was quite flavorless. -I had fried okra that was soggy. -we both had... More

Enjoyed a nice dinner for two. We were seated quickly on a busy night. Good service. Really enjoyed the seafood. Got the impression this was a good example of a genuine local place. Will definitely be back.

The food and service was great! We are here twice during our trip. The raw oysters were good, the shrimp and scallop pasta was a favorite of ours and the bacon wrapped shrimp was awesome!

We stop by this one every year. Oysters were great. My son had the gumbo and wipes the bowl clean. We love this place. Very kid friendly and fun ready material on the walls.

We wanted to eat seafood and my husband was craving crab claws and oysters. We picked the right place. Several people greeted us when we walked in. We were seated outside which my grandson really enjoyed. They had a fish feed vending machine which was well used by my grandson. Service was quick and meal was fantastic.

My husband said the oysters were good. He and my parents shared them as an appetizer. The scallops wrapped in bacon were delicious. The shrimp and grits were AWFUL. The shrimp were tiny and did not look local. They tasted frozen. Which was really disappointing. My mom had shrimp skewers and they were big and she said delicious. So we... More

The restaurant was not busy when we arrived a little before 7 pm. We thought that would be a sign the food was bad, but it was delicious. However, it took about 45 minutes from the time we ordered until we were served the main meal. Our appetizers took about 30! There was quite the wait for a table by... More

Everything we ordered was very good. One of the best meals during my vacation to Orange Beach. Chaotic in lobby upon arrival but fortunately was seated quickly. Kitchen was slow. Server was personable and provided great service. The walls are covered with various signs and some are amusing. I'd like to see the ones with old fashioned humor that is... More

If you don't mind a long wait, the food is good. The exception was under seasoned and over cooked steak and the child's meal. Steak was ordered due to one of the party has a shellfish allergy. The child's meal was a simple grilled cheese. It wasn't brought with the other meals when it should have been first. Then when... More

We could not complain about the appetizers or entrees. The food was excellent especially the oysters. The service for a half empty restaurant was not good. The waiter did not listen well and forgot to put in the order for the only child in the party. Long wait for refills and never apologized. Management did what they could once they... More
