Visited this place two days in a row, food was so good the first time we all went back again. The beef sandwich, salads, salmon sandwich - all delicious. We sat outside upstairs the first night and outside downstairs the second night. Nice waitress and waiters, always attentive and courteous. Definitely a place to eat when you are downtown Opelika.

The pub has a fun atmosphere, good food but it takes some time to eat here. They offer a meat and three for lunch that is really good but if you only get a half an hour or on a time crunch you will never make it. We eat here about once every month and the service is always good... More

We had dinner tonight at the Irish Brew pub and found it to be very disappointing. We were seated and waited about 15 minutes for a server. We had the Shepard's pie and it was only fair. We then split the bread pudding. Once again we had a rather long wait and that was very disappointing. It was barely lukewarm.... More

Thank you for letting me know about your poor experience this past Friday night. This is very concerning to hear as we work hard to provide great food and prompt service. Obviously we failed to deliver either of those to you on Friday, and I am sincerely sorry for our shortcomings. I would like to invite you to give us... More

We were so excited to find an Irish Pub available to us when we were traveling through the area. I Wish we had not found it at all! The Fish N Chips were total mush and strange tasting, and while tasty, the Crab Boxty was full of shell pieces. Both the Shepherd's pie and the Guinness Beef Stew were so... More

We've been serving the Opelika area for quite some time now, DeeDee, and the reviews about us are genuine. I'm sorry that your meal was not up to your expectations, and I hope you mentioned this to your bartender or a manager. We work hard to resolve any issues you bring to our attention so that you can have a... More

The whole family should be able to find something here. What you expect for an Irish pub. Great service. Located in downtown Opelika, there are shops nearby as well.

Nice atmosphere, in an old building with wooden floors. The food is better than average as a whole but the Shepard's pie is worth the drive from anywhere.

In a small town with a growing night life, I find their food underwhelming while their prices are above average. Unlike their competitors, they don't offer a cocktail menu. They boast a nice balcony, that is sometimes open.

Steve N, Owner at Irish Bred Pub, responded to this review

We have a lot of passion behind our menu and our service, and I'm sorry if this wasn't reflected in your latest visit. We have not only a cocktail menu, but also a separate beer, wine, and whiskey menu as well, and I apologize if you did not get one on your most recent visit. Thank you for stopping in,... More

It has been about a year since we have eaten lunch here. My wife had the rib-eye sandwich with a broccoli salad. She said the sandwich was delicious, but the salad was not good. I had the salmon sandwich on a Kaiser roll. It was cooked to perfection, which is just a little undercooked with spicy French fries which paired... More

A whole year, Bill? Wow! So glad to have you back and to see it was such a great visit. While I'm glad most of your dishes were to your liking, it's unfortunate to hear that your wife's salad wasn't what she was looking for. We all look forward to your next visit and are happy to hear it won't... More

To the owner: Have you abandoned your love for this "could be awesome place"? I've held myself back the last 3 visits but alas, I cannot hold back any longer. There is a horrid stench when u enter the building-it smells of rotten produce. The bar area smells even worse. If you ask the employees if they smell it they... More

We are, as always, dedicated to a fun and friendly experience for our guests, Crystal. I'm sorry that your last few visits haven't matched up with our passion for a delicious meal and enjoyable time. Here at Irish Bred Pub, our vision is to be the hub of our community and to create a new "local" in Historic Downtown Opelika - a place where people gather, exchange ideas, make new friends, catch up with old friends. At our restaurant you will enjoy locally grown vegetables, fresh beef, chicken, and seafood served by the area's friendliest service staff and prepared by our Chef, Chris Stone (a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Institute who came to us from Wolfgang Puck Catering) and his team. Hosting an event or have a big group to feed? Well you're in luck because Irish Bred Pub does catering! Now we can bring the delicious food and drinks right to you and ensure that your event is a huge hit. Some of our most popular dishes include our fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and Guinness BBQ Bacon Burger. So come on in, pull up a chair, relax, and let us serve you as the worries of the day melt into distant memories.
